View Full Version : New Gun Day!
Picked this up this morning.
It is the first purchase in my desire to own at least one classic pistol from each of the Big 3*. To me this is the quintessential Ed Brown.

Congrats:wavey:
Thanks folks, we are getting to know one another.
First thing that had to go was the HUGE bumper pad on the EB magazine!
I took it out back and ran a few magazines (the EB and a couple KimPro for the curious) thru it for function, and it ran just fine, though I decided I like EB's extended mag release a bit better than their standard version.
More shooting will follow, of course!

Nope.

Congrats!
Congrats nice looking and shooting 1911, I think a SS 5" Kobra might be in my future someday :) I think I might have my bobtailed :)
Brown did make a run of 9mms this year, I think they were EEs. I wish they would offer more calibers than just .45 on their guns :)

You are correct sir.
I believe EB made a limited run (50?) of 9mm Executives. Price was $2,700-800 IIRC. For that coin, I'd get a 9mm CQB for a little less.

I'm leaning toward the CQB from Wilson and may get it in 9mm.
No offense to the folks at Ed Brown, but Wilson has a bit more experience with the 9mm in a 1911, so I feel more comfortable with the CQB in that chambering. Probably completely unfounded.
Congrats, that is an awesome 1911.

I agree the Wilson would be a better bet in 9mm since they makes them year round as opposed to Brown. Of course you could get Wilson to make you a CQB in .38 Super , I almost did on my last CQB but went .45ACP instead.
I am waffleing on a Wilson Protector in .38 Super next or a Brown 5" SS Kobra. :dunno: Of course Wilson is making some very nice LW models now as well

I love the Kobra, but if I was going 9mm, I'd definitely go Wilson too.
