Thank you for sharing. BTW did you eat the piglet? If so, how was it?

I did not! Pigs that size are great to eat though! My buddy was shooting, I was taking pictures. I think his laborers got them but i'm not 100% sure. We were on a levee during a flooding event, they killed every pig they could got a shot at! Couldnt have them rooting up already weakened levees during the high water. They are a huge nuisance down here, especially on the levees. Heard of about 450-500 killed during the rising water, wish that number was quadrupled!
Thanks for the kind words!

Do the pigs damage the levees structurally?

Yes! Hogs rooting up an already weakened levee with less than a foot of freeboard (distance to overtopping) is not what you want when in a record setting water year.

Man! Great pics!
Thanks for posting and whats up with the fish jumping out of the water? Good timing on your part for sure!
Are those the silver carp that jump when startled by things like a boat motor. I just saw something on TV about them.

Asian carp if I am not mistaken.

It is a Silver Carp (also called Asian Carp, but there are 8 species of carp that are technically Asian Carp including grass carp, common carp, bighead carp, silver carp, black carp, common goldfish, crucean carp, and mud carp). We have a HUGE problem with silver carp in our lakes down here! I can think of very few bodies of water that don't have them in them, and after the flooding, I imagine that number shrank significantly!
The turbulence of the rising water rushing under the road culvert was causing them to jump there was so much force going through the culvert. Pretty wild to see!
Thanks for the kind words!

You could of done some redneck clay shooting! lol Those fish are such an invasive species I cant believe it.
Love the pics Man, it looks like home to me... If I ever had to relocate, It would be nice to stay in a gulf state... I don't know if I could ever get used to seeing a different scenery than your pics show...

They are fun to shoot with bows and shotguns (when can be done safely of course)!

Thanks bud! I have a lot of family in Shreveport/Monroe! Need to make another trip over there soon to see everyone!
I couldn't live anywhere but down here I don't think! I would go crazy in a city!
