Well guys, thanks to Greg, I now have #73. It is a 1988 Springfield Armory Mil-Spec .45. When first received, it sported a well worn look. Greg can attest to that. I spent a half an hour with some superfine steel wool and some Derma Blue and restored some of its luster. It still has a nice petina in the bluing that gives it the aged look. Here it is.
Before: (Thanks Greg)

Somebody is getting ready to have some serious long range fun. What kind of glass are you going to put on it?

Looking at a Mark IV 3.5-10 for this rifle.
I have a VXII 3.5-10, on my 6.8 AR. I like the upgraded features of the Mark IV for this 308.
I just can not justify a SB of NF right now, but when I can easily wack a 600m gong........:whistling:

The Leupold will do the job very nicely without robbing you blind. Are you going to be using the .308WIN 168gr. Sierra Match King BTHPs?
Congrats!
Timeless beauty. Are you considering sending it to Yost and feature it next to your modern 1911s like your Wilsons, Baers and Browns collection. That would be a pleasure to see. :)
I was only 71 away from you, and you add another one! ;)
Congrats !!
I'm 68 away, but then again, I'm not a quantity guy either. Though all of mine are modern builds, I'm finicky and don't mind moving up a tier at a time as funds permit. I'd rather have one nice Baer or Ed Brown than a half dozen RIAs.

I have some Black Hill Match 168 HPBT lined up for it. Will work up a load in a few months.
I have an FNH PBR XP .308 that I will give you a good deal on. Only 30 rounds fired when I zeroed the scope.
I'm not much of a rifle guy.

Man I love long range shooting. I've shot hundreds of groundhogs. I like .220 & .204 for that. One of my sons uses a .338 win. mag to shoot deer at long range. Nice gun.

Nice addition. I'd like to see the size of your range bag. It must be humongis.
