I was looking at one of the Bushmaster AR pistols the other day (pic below). I really find one of these novelty guns appealing but the thing is just way to much plastic for my liking. That made me start to wonder if a person could build one of their own that was a little more to their liking and a little less plastic. I am kind of just looking for a reason to buy and use the lower I have pictured below. Does anyone have any info on whether all the parts needed would be available? About how much could a person expect to spend?

All that's really different when building is the buffer tube. You just have make sure it can't accept a stock.

Also, you just have to register the lower as a pistol and buy yourself a short upper.


But beware, those things get LOUD

The stripped lower does not have to be "registered" as a pistol. It is usually transfered as "other". Whoever you purchaswd from should note on the receipt that it was sold as a stripped receiver or as never built. Then you can order a parts kit with pistol upper and approriate buffer tube from any of the popular sources like Del-Ton or Model 1 etc.
You could order a stripped lower that is marked as a pistol. But it isn't required.

SBR, not a "pistol", correct. Just so the OP doesn't get the wrong idea.

It is always good when your scope protrudes beyound the end our your barrel. That way you know you are getting every ounce of accuracy out of that 9mm round... :supergrin:

I'll have my 9mm SBR pretty soon, I can't afford the scope though :crying:
