1911's Personality

I am really new to 1911's and guns and I know some of you guys have been around shooting for years. I know there are more then a few of you like Bac that have huge gun collections. So my question is very simple. Do you feel the guns you have shot and the guns you own all have unique personalities.

Personalities? No.

However each one may perform a bit differently with the same ammo.

I don't know about personalities, but the 1911's in my collection each are different to me. :cool: And they serve different purposes for me.

All 1911's have a soul, they have personality.
Kinda like a 60's vintage Jaguar. You can run 'em hard & put them away wet.
You can pamper 'em & let them rest on pink carpet,......classic, bold & beautiful!

All mine are pretty different. My .45's have a 9mm counterpart.

i think they do all have different personalities. shooting them really completes your feel for a guns personality but oftentimes you can tell significant differences between similar guns without even shooting them.

I notice some minor differences in my 1911's. I feel my Wilson recoils differently than the rest, which I believe is due to the rifling they use. I have some 1911's that like to be "divas" and only work when they feel the need to, and others that do as they're told...most of the time.

My 1911's go boom every time and they are no heavier than my G21 with 14 rounds of 230g 45's in it.
But then again I've never been comfortable carrying a small under powered gun.

And for comparison,
Glock 21 (stock) w/14 rounds of 230gn - 40.1 oz.


That's 4.6oz heavier.

You could carry a Glock 21 and a really good cheese burger for the same weight as a 1911.
