I would trade my whole family for that gun! You are very gifted, I'd give anything to be able to crank out such amazing work. Hopefully one day I can acquire such a beauty.

Nice work.

When I was in the USAF, trading patches was pretty common. I have some most folks would recognize and a few that no-one outside the project has ever heard of.

If you're A+, I'll trade for a chunk of your liver.

Sharper eyes may notice a burr where the right hand french cut meets the front of the slide. I missed that completely! There are several other defects in the slide's finish. I'll be recoating it.

You might not want a chunk of my liver. :rofl:Hell, I'd take it as is. I didn't see no stinking burr. Now I wish I would have put that bobnose on my last gun I sent to you. Woulda looked pretty cool with the carry cuts.

Chuck - as usual, a top notch pistol worthy of making everyone drool... for your artisan skills with metal, and a camera. Good on ya once again!

Would I be out of place for asking what the finish is? As someone else mentioned, I like the gray color.

The slide gets refinished today. Hopefully with better results.

The finish is Cerakote. Sniper Grey. Over a base of manganese phosphate.

And I was mistaken about the patches. This is from the guy that gave them to me:

"The patches are "Platoon" Patches and one is a "Task Unit" or "Troop" Patch. Every Platoon Cycle at a SEAL Team each platoon commissions a patch to identify their platoon; and sometimes Task Unit (two platoons) at a Team.

I gave Chuck patches from my last two platoons. The patch with the "putting green" was from "GOLF" Platoon. The patch with the "Devil" from a previous Platoon "FOXTROT."

Team Guys often give these patches away to foreign counter-parts as well as support personnel whom assisst us in our mission. I am a big fan of Chucks work like so many here. He had done a spectacular build for me as well as some other work and I often show my appreciation by offering tokens such as the Platoon Patches.

The beauty of the patches is that they aren't official military insignia like our Warfare Pin or "Trident" so to offer it to people outside of the community is both accepted and expected.

I refinished the frame and slide cause I'm picky!
The darn camera showed me some small defects the first time around.

Yep, still purty!

If you have any other 1911s around that you suspect might have small defects, you just pack 'em up and send them to me. I'll be glad to give them a thorough inspection and range test. :whistling:
