View Full Version : Can you put a Verizon Sim Card in an AT&T Ipad?
I currently own a 3G iPad1 and I have service through AT&T. My phone is through Verizon and I was looking into getting an iPhone or other smart phone with them. Can I get a Verizon sim-card and put it in my iPad and run it off the same data plan as the phone?
Nope. Incompatible radios. The hardware is different....not to mention Verizon is CDMA which doesn't utilize SIM cards.

Both are different signals one is CDMA other is GSM. So even if both did have sim cards there not compatible technology.

Possible solution but not ideal. Fact, verizon don't have sim card and you cannot clone SIMM card (run 2 SIMM card)
What you can do is try tethering from your verizon iPhone or smart phone with your ipad via wifi. Alternative, verizon has mifi and sell data plan. Same concept that you will need to tethering the iPad via wifi or USB.

Verizon doesn't use SIM cards. At least in the phones we've used over the past 10 years.
