G19 Mag release

Can the Magazine release be changed to the other side for left handed shooters? I have a G19 and I am left handed. I had one store tell me that it cannot be done, but I think the people on this board are in a better position to answer this question.

Also, is there a recommended Glock Gunsmith in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area?

on a Gen 4 it's a stock option (you can flip it over your self)

Not sure how viable it is on earlier versions via customization.
