i have a uncle mikes iwb i use some times at the 5 o'clock position. I also use a fobus gl-3 paddle that i tuck the barrel into my right back pocket. If you dont do alot of bending over its not too bad.

Yep, not daily but if I'm going into enemy territory i strap on my G21 in a crossbreed supertuck, 13 rounds of 45 make feel more secure than 5 shots of 357 mag.

DeSantis Insider or Dual Carry (both are IWB holsters), Uncle Mike's IWB, Uncle Mikes pancake type nylon belt holster or Glock combat/sport belt holster. I also have an Uncle Mike's horizontal shoulder holster that fits the G-21 but I have not used it.

The DeSantis Insider is the one I use when I need the most concealment as the belt clip is located high on the holster and I can literally tuck the entire mag well below my belt if I want to.

I am also going to get the DeSantis Sof-Tuck tuckable IWB holster. The nice thing about these 3 DeSantis models is that they fit the G-21, G-17 & G 22 so I don't need separate holsters for each.

Not the OP but I'm also looking at a 21 or 20 so this is good stuff! Thanks for your input guys.

One more quick, related question. Do any of you guys routinely carry a 17 or 22 as well? How much different is carrying a 21 over those two? Thanks.

I used to carry a 21 in a Dillon Master pancake holster at the 3 o'clock position, never had any issues. Usually wore an unbuttoned short-sleever shirt over a t-shirt when carrying that rig.

I just started to carry my 22 and I'm probably going to down size. It is fine walking but when i sit in my car its really unconformable.

I have the Comp-Tac MTAC IWB which works well with my G 21SF.

As my name suggests, I carried one for about a year. Maybe a little over a year. I took it everywhere. It is not that hard to conceal. I am 6'2" 210lbs just as a body type reference for yourself. I used a Don Hume H715M W.C., and still use the same holster now for my G29. Both guns fit in the same holster perfectly (although there's an extra .75" inch or so at the muzzle with the G29).

I carried my G21SF wearing tee-shirts and shorts, jeans and a button up, whatever. Many times my girlfriend didn't even know I had it. It is practical to carry. It takes a tad bit more effort than a compact or subcompact, but not much. Plus, it's quite the comforting accomplice with 13+1 rounds of .45ACP.

I've carried a G21 in a CTAC in the past with no issues.

I'm 6'2", 230 lbs., and my 21 is in the carry rotation; El Paso Saddlery Tortilla holster on a Wilderness Instructors belt.

Live in Northern Virginia (the British Foreign Office used to classify Washington as a tropical post), it's a little more likely to print than the 17 but I've never been made in it. It is, however, noticeably heavier than the 17 or 19, especially if you carry two spare magazines.

In the words of Clint Smith, "it's supposed to be comforting, not comfortable".

I've carried mine a few times in the fall/winter with a Glock holster covered by a baggy sweatshirt. Need all the protection you can get at the Black Friday/Xmas sales:cool:

Just got a G21 Gen3 with rail and the fobus gl-3 paddle holster would not work.

Also looking for a suggestion for a paddle that will fit the G21 with rail.

The 21 is a little thicker, longer & taller than the 17/22 and the extra width and slightly longer mag well are noticeable but once it is in the waistband it is not really that much of a difference to me. If you can carry one you can carry the other. It is not as significant as the difference between a full sized Glock and a compact or subcompact.

Mine is a gen3 and fits just fine in the gl-3. Is it the normal rail or the picattiny rail.

I regularly carry my G21 in a DeSantis Speed Scabbard.

IWB I like my MTAC's, or my new favorite, Theis horsehide.

OWB I like a high-riding pancake style to keep it tight in at the 4:00 or so position- Several desantis thumb-break scabbards, a couple Galco cop-3-slots. The latter cost more, but are a little more solid.

Full size glocks carry o.k., but definitely take a little practice and good positioning to conceal well. IMO, the length of the grip is the limiting factor (when "doing stuff- bending over to pick things up, etc.) and my primary carry has a G22 slide on a G23 frame. To me, this is the ideal balance for CCW.

IMO a G20 or G21 isn't appreciably different to carry than a G22 (or maybe G35) but I am seriously considering chopping a G20 frame to use a 12 round extended mag for CCW. Similarly a G21 cut to use a 10 round mag might be just perfect if you prefer .45 to 10mm. Either way, with a couple full size mags on your belt, that makes for a pretty solid package.

If I'm going to carry my G20SF the uncle mikes IWB works good for me.

Just takes some getting used to. I like a G20 for most days, and it's almost never a problem.IWB I like my MTAC's, or my new favorite, Theis horsehide.

Well, it's off-the-body-carry, but right now I'm carrying a G21 in a Maxpedition Jumbo along with two 13 round back-up mags. Yep, 40 rounds of ammo total, and room for the other stuff I want to throw in there, as well. :cool:http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/Versipacks-c4.htm

G21??? Absolutely in the colder months or the woods with a Serpa. Summer carry Ahhhhhhh....Maybe if I invested in a G21 add-on for my MTAC.

My CCW is a G30 carried in a Crossbreed Supertuck. I recently bought a G21 from another forum member, and just for grins, stuck it in my Supertuck. I was very surprised how well the 21 concealed. Most of the extra size is the front of the slide. I wouldn't try concealing it in tighter jeans, but in something like cargo shorts, it disappears. Great pistol, BTW.

Thanks for your reply.

Mine is a Gen3 G21 with the picatinny rail.
I believe that I have found the right Fobus (mod GKLT21).

Yeah I looked at the Fobus site and it doesn't say that the GL-3 will only work with the standard rail. Hope the GKLT21 will work out for you.

20 or 21, EDC for many years. You just get used to it.

You can beat the G20 or G21 for carry out in the bush, hunting or hiking, especially in an OWB Serpa along with 2 spare mags.

G21 (SF) in a Crossbreed Supertuck.
Every day, all year around, no matter what the weather.
I carried a full size 1911 all of my life so this was not a drastic change for me.
A good belt and a good holster make all the difference to carrying a big gun comfortably.
Of course there is a sacrifice such as wearing a slightly baggy shirt to cover it and slightly bigger waiste size pants for the IWB holster, but it is worth it to carry the King of the Glocks and having 14 rounds of .45 at your disposal.
No wimpy pocket guns for this guy!!!

I've EDC'd my G21 in a Galco Combat Master holster w/matching 1.75" leather belt. It works & is comfortable, but not all clothing & climates will match up well w/this set up. (unless you've got a badge next to it, or live in an OC friendly area & don't care about active retention)
