Mas, what are your thoughts on this for trained, experienced shooters?
Lots of folks like it, and are very fast with it. I watched Todd Louis Green win the Polite Society match in Tulsa last year, kicking everybody's butt including mine; he drew from under a closed-front cover garment from inside the waitband appendix (HK45). Ace defensive tactics instructor "Southnarc" popularized this position in recent years.
It's very defensible from a gungrab. Very fast for two-handed draw; since free hand is required to lift the garment for best speed, however, probably won't be as fast as behind the hip for one hand draw, assuming the wearer is covering the behind the hip holster with an open-front garment. The reason is that the appendix position tends to inadvertently expose the gun with an open-front garment, and all but requires a closed-front garment to keep it concealed.
Still, lot of folks find it uncomfortable, particularly those of other than athletic build. Some are put off by the psychological factor of a loaded gun pointed at their private parts.
