I'll bite. Are fish antibiotics useful for humans? Details please.

It would be inappropriate for any to advise you to use fish antibiotics for human use. They are not certified for that and would be by prescription only. However, I understand they are essentially produced by the same companies in the same conditions at least for the capsule products.

Other veterinary products may not be the same. They often have other delivery methods that may have fillers that are not appropriate to humans.

Get youself a PDR or ask a Doctor or Pharmacist what osage of what antibiotic would be useful for treating what types of infection. I've found that 500mg of Amoxicillin (known as FishMox Forte in the pet world) taken three times per day is a good, strong, all around course of antibiotics. Amoxicillin is also good for soft tissue infections (ears, toenails, cuts) as well as hard tissue infections (teeth, gums, jaws). Just make sure you buy from a reputable website and that no one in your group is allergic to whatever you decide to buy.

I just got done reading that keeping the anti biotic in the freezer prolongs it's usefulness.

Most drugs will last a very long time past the expiration date. The companys use expiration dates as a marketing tactic, who wants to go buy new antibiotics when the stuff from 10 years ago is still good on the shelf. The military had the FDA do test a few years ago to see of they needed to get rid of the antibiotics they were storing cause they were about to expire, and the answer was except for a select few, they would store for somewhere around 15 years if kept cool and most importantly dry.

You may be referring to the Shelf Life Extension Program (SLEP) between the FDA and DOD to extend drugs that are stockpiled by the CDC for emergency use in an public health emergency. Certain drugs/lots are pulled and tested for effectiveness, and if they retain a certain level (I believe it is 90%) they are rotated back into inventory, NOT THE COMMERCIAL INVENTORY just to clarify.

This was the situation when H1N1 influenza occured in 2009. Several lots of antivirals we received were expired, however their shelf life was extended.

As for a drug you SHOULD NOT take after expiration, according to a pharmacist I work with, Acetaminophen should be disguarded after expiration.

Fish often take Tetracycline, a standard human Antibiotic.

Comment: Caution with any antibiotic. They can be completely inneffective, depending on the issue, or you can end up making it worse by only killing off the weak germs, leaving super strong ones to continue breeding/attack.

Drug expiriation dates are typically the beginning of half-life decomposition. That means from creation to that date, they are full power. AFTER that date, they begin decomposing until that period of time elapses again at which point they will be HALF efficacy. Just take two to equal one in that case.

I do not know which drugs this applies to, and I am sure they do not all have the same decay rates. That is a very gross generalization. Published dates are ultra conservative - it is safe and profitable that way.

I have been buying from them for years, never a problem.
Buy large quantities, as shipping is about $24.00 regardless of the quantity.
I have stashed enough antibiotics for myself and for barter.
Prices are ridiculously low.
Ignore page asking about script, just skip over.
No scripts needed.
Last time I bought Visa card only.

I use their pills for: reflux, glucose control, hyperlipidemia, blood pressure, creams for itching, antibiotics etc.
The pills work, otherwise they would not manage the above.

Both of those bugs are VERY resistant to anti-biotics. They also require long term treatments to eliminate. What was she prescribed the last time she got one of them? That would be a good place to start researching from. I doubt that fish anti-biotice would suffice, but if you know the drugs and the treatment regimin, you could get them through one of the mail order pharmacies above to save for a rainy day...

Good luck.

Yes and no...

Some of those companies have a doctor on staff to "prescribe" the drugs to you. Essentially they will give you whatever you want. Many people use the companies to purchase narcotics. In general they are a scam and you'll pay a premium for the service, but if you are looking for antibiotics, it may be a bit cheaper.

Thank you for explaining this to me! :)

How can I tell if those antibiotics are scam? I know many people out there are selling scam products.

I think I explained it poorly.

The scam I was referring to was the fact that many people can get drugs of abuse through these companies.

I have not heard of US based companies selling bad drugs, just using poor techniques to prescribe them. If you know what you are looking for and are willing to pay for it, you should be good in getting antibiotics from one of those companies.
