Bought the magazine earlier today, just got around to reading that article a few minutes ago. Good read but no real new information. Made me decide to go to the safe and look at mine.

Thank you. It is great as it comes from Springfield, but I don't care for three hole triggers, so I swapped it out for a Harrison and some VZ grips. It's all blacked out now, save for the barrel bushing.

I have a Professional, not really a "pretty" pistol to me. However, they are a very serious combat arm and very very functional. I have several high end 1911 pistols but if I knew I was going to a fight. The Professional is the one I'd carry. Simplicity and functional have their own beauty. There are no weak spots in design or use of the pistol I've found. Just a very well done basic 1911 with a mag well.
