I will be taking a trip to a major water park later this week. I have been thinking on what to carry and how. The choices for carry are 1911 full size, G19, G26, Kel-Tec PF9.

I will be in a swimsuit most of the time, so I think ankle carry is out. Any suggestions? :tongueout:

Are you serious? Dont bring anything you wouldn't mind losing......

Have you checked with the park to make sure you can legally carry? Even so, I wouldn't want to carry a firearm in a park, especially if you're going to get wet. :dunno:

The only thing I could think of would be an appendix wrap or belly band and wear a shirt over it, with the smallest gun you have.

It's most likely illegal to carry there.
What state are you in?

prob not legal since :

you are paying admission
You are entering a public gathering
expect a visit from the local polizia shortly after you enter
You will certainly make the evening news

maybe put it in the waistband of your speedo? Folks probably wont notice:rofl:

Glock 19 or 26 in a Zach holster tied to the front of your shorts. I always carry the 19 in trunks, its a little more weight but the extra barrel length prevents it from flipping when I bend over.

This can't be a serious question OP, is it.....

That doesn't make it illegal, this really depends on the OP's state, which he failed to mention, so it's difficult to answer the legalities of this (which isn't really what he asked anyway).

My thoughts? Smartcarry. A bellyband would work also, however when he gets soaking wet, either of those are going to print very noticeably.

I think over at the State Pen they call it a "Prison Purse". What you can fit there is based on your experience I guess.

Good luck.

Pink squirt gun, with two extra clips.

Oh crap I said clip!

I meant clip, not magazine, to keep it in clipped into your trunks.

I recently went tubing on a nearby river and carried my G29. I had it in the cargo pocket of my swimsuit, with a 3 foot length of parachute cord tied from the lanyard hole to my swimsuit. It stayed underwater for 3 hours. It did great. I barely noticed it. I stopped on the way home and dumped the mag (gun still wet), just to check for function of both the gun and my hand loads. Fired just like normal.

I'm not sure about a waterpark, that seems like trouble. A river in rural Alabama, on the other hand, just screams Deliverance, so I was packing. I was in no mood to squeal like a pig.

Put it down in the front of the speedo. Everyone will just think you are a bit excited to see the bikinis.

You can buy waterproof bags online...heavy, double zip sealed... divers and others use these. I use these for my wallet when snorkelling but i am sure one would work with a G26 and carry in your pocket. Many have a rope tether as well. Would not be a quick draw but would be there so you would not need to leave the gun in your car or be without a little protection if some things came up... or to and from your car.

Lost a pair of 100 dollar sunglasses on a slide , no way would I want to lose a 600 dollar gun.

You have to not be serious..

I would carry a minimum of a .223 in case you have to take a long range shot across the wave pool or something.

Oh yeah because nothing bad ever happens at waterparks:upeyes:

just google the words 'shooting' and 'waterpark'

You can always count on some people at GT to insult and ridicule... this tendency seems more juvenile to me than someone genuinely interested in protecting his family.

Here are just a couple of links to shootings occurring at waterparks:

If it concerns you this much, find an alternate activity.

Just don't think it is sound judgement to flirt with breaking the law (if you are breaking the law), flirt with losing a gun amongst children, etc...

I don't carry 24/7 and don't lose sleep.

You could always go for the butt-floss through the trigger guard option, OR you could go with Thuderwear.

So you posted links of a shooting that occured in a parking lot and the other shooting occured inside the business offices killing one of the owners.

If you want a gun inside the activity area of a water park get a water gun.

Where did he say he was going to swim? I figure he's taking family members and plans to sit in under an umbrella the whole time. Is it THAT necessary to call someone stupid for this? :dunno:

Here's the update. I just got back from a one nighter at Kalahari! It was great, the whole family had a blast, I highly recommend it to anyone. Everything was great from the hotel service to the water park rides and even the moving scenery was pretty decent.

As for the carry, I thought it made a funny topic! I was laughing at some of the suggestions. You guys crack me up. No I did not carry, nor was I intending to. Thanks for the laughs you guys made my vacation complete.
