How did this happen, two Pythons in two months? :dunno:

First a nice 4" 67,

http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n602/hackman1911/pythondeck003.jpg

Then a nice 6" 72 with box came up, had to have it.

http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n602/hackman1911/Pythons004.jpg

The pair

http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n602/hackman1911/Pythons013.jpg

And the whole Colt family to make this 1911 subforum applicable.

http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n602/hackman1911/ColtFamilyX5004.jpg

In addition to my 1911 addiction, I think I may be on the path to a second addiction.

WOW amazing blue job on the 2nd python congratulations. I have noticed a trend most people who like 1911's (one of the finer semi autos in my opinion) tend to like the finer revolvers also. I want that python just for the bluing job on it that thing is just gorgeous

The reason 1911 guys love revolvers is the combination of STEEL and WOOD not ugly plastic.:tongueout: Fire arms to me should function and be something pretty to look at. I guess glocks, M&Ps, etc. serve one of those but fail miserably at the other. Nice revolvers like the python are beautiful to look at and have a personality all their own. A plastic gun just looks like another plastic gun. Plus a bunch of us older guys grew up when a gun made of plastic wasn't avaliable. Pull out a python or a glock 19 to a fire arms enthusiast and see which draws oooos and aaaahs.

Thanks! The bluing is actually very similar on both, it's really my pictures that make them look so different. It was real sunny when I photographed my 67, but it's been cloudy and rainy all day today, which made my 72 look quite a bit different.

You got the Pony Express ailment. Next thing you know, you'd start eyeballing the snubbies, and the the Shooting Master, the Target Master, the Officers Model Match, the Officers Model Special, the Official Police in .22LR, the Police Positive, the M1917, the New Service...

You know what they say, "if it ain't a Colt, it's a copy."

Wow  you just answered a question I was never able to put into words. I guess that is why I favor my 686, 1911 and my J-Frame more then I do my 17. That might also be why I take more time to clean them to me they are works of maniacal art. The Glock while a nice gun seems like a soulless lump of plastic compared to the others. Almost like a really well crafted knife or sword there a personality there even if you dont wanna admit it and its a work of art.

Yep, plastic pistols just don't do it for me, I don't condemn them, but I don't own any, and probably never will.

Thanks! I really like them both, it's hard to pick between the two. The 6" barrel seems a little more natural on the large frame, but the 4" model does look great.

But you need a pimp Python now - bright polished nickel plated, baby!!! You know you want it.

I have to admit, the only revolver I've ever shot was my mom's nickel S&W .22lr when I was a kid. It was the first gun I ever fired aside from a BB gun. After her memorial in January, my dad asked what I wanted of her stuff, and him knowing that I'm a gun nut, before I could answer he said I would eventually get the S&W....but not now. She probably hadn't fired it in 10 years. It's probably 25 years old and it looked almost new.

That said, I know little to nothing about revolvers, but can certainly appreciate the pics in this thread. Nice looking guns for sure, guys.

Korths are fantastic, but that's more of a collectable for me. They're among the best revolvers built, but my favorite wheelguns are American.
