glock2740
07-23-2011, 21:53
Well, I guess I can let the cat out of the bag...I'm trading my Wilson ULCc for Dave's NH Predator II and his DW CCO. I'm getting a sweet deal out of it and Dave is getting a great ULCc, that's pretty much to his specs, without the wait. Sometimes time is money. It just worked out really well for both of us. I've been dogging Dave like a coondog chasing a coon about his NH Predator II:rofl:, and after seeing his new DW CCO, have been on the verge of ordering the exact same thing, especially after hearing his rave reviews about it. He's regretted selling his ULCc, which was a gun that after he got, made me want one for myself. The Wilson ULCc is, IMO, THE BEST CC 1911 ever made. I will, most likely, order another ULCc, from Dave of course, later on down the road. I can't imagine NOT having one. But, for this trade, I can go without one for a few months. I'm gonna put in a shameless plug for DRC Firearms here,. Dave is THE BEST gun dealer, that I've ever dealt with and I will get my guns through him for the rest of gun gettin' days. GREAT guy and great dealer. Period. Anyone who has dealt with Dave, can vouche 110%. He knew I really wanted the guns that he brought to the table, and took a hit, just to be able to get a killer ULCc instantly, instead of having the 4-6 month wait that would be required to get a new one. Plus, me knowing that Dave has it and uses it as his EDC CC gun, just makes me feel like I'm "keeping it in the family". He'll enjoy the ULCc, as much as I will enjoy the NH PII and the DW CCO. It's a win win.

I agree 100%. The Wilson ULCc is THE top of the line CC 1911 IMHO. I CC a Glock of some sort most of the time, so I won't "miss" the ULCc as much as someone(Dave), would, on a regular basis. I will say, that the Wilson ULCc is as good as it gets as far as a CC 1911 goes. Dave has spoken highly of the DW CCO, enoght IMO, that I'll feel good as gold in CC'ing it, especially since I'm a big Glock "toter". I will definately CC the DW CCO as soon as it arrives for sure. (in a CBST, don't tell Dave:rofl:). I can't wait to get the NH PII to the range. I've heard nothing but good stuff about that one since day 1. A range report will follow shortly.

Cool deal, I love that Nighthawk.

drc767
07-24-2011, 05:51
This is one of those deals that I am somewhat conflicted about, but I can live with. Why am I conflicted, you ask? Well.....for starters, the DW CCO is, without a doubt, one of the coolest, and most accurate 1911's I have seen in quite some time. That little monster is an absolute tack driver. It really is a very well put together and amazing little EDC pistol. I am a huge fan....The upside on that is that I can get another one fairly easy....that is the ONLY reason it is part of this deal. The Nighthawk? Well....that may end up being one of those pistols that I look back on one day and wish I had not have done this, BUT Joe really wants the Predator II and the CCO has re-lit the fire in me for a CCO style carry pistol for the days that I just want to carry something light. The day I got rid of my ULCc I knew I had mad a big mistake. I have been meaning to put another one on order, but have not got around to it. I know Joe loves his and figured there was no way he was ever going to part with it so I just started upping the ante to see just how stubborn the SOB was.....I think I found his threshold. The bottom line on the Nighthawk is this.....I really like the pistol, but it will never seen any holster time because it will never replace my Wilson Elite Professional Lightweight Bobtail in .38 Super. Second, I am pretty much a Wilson and Guncrafter guy when it comes to my personal 1911's. The ULCc will see plenty of holster time and it will save me the pretty long waits Wilson is working with right now. It really is a win-win for both of us.....although both of us are giving up something we are not really happy to give up for something that makes the sting a little less painful. Make sense? I hope so, because that is what I keep telling myself. :)

P.S. Don't ever try to experiment to find someone's threshold when you have a few cocktails in you.....because you will damn sure find it.

Thats a good trade. All sexy guns. You'll like the CCO. I carry Glock most of the time as well but the cco is so thin and the shorter frame makes a difference. You wouldn't think a cmdr size would be much different to carry but it is
