glock pre ban post ban magazines

how can you tell the difference between preban and post magazines?
is there any pre ban magazines

I assume you are looking for the early "U" back models? If so, look to the back of the magazine where the round count holes are. You are looking at the top of the mag and the shape of the metal in the mag is in a "U" form. This would be considered a Non-Full metal lined magazine (NMFL) and is no doubt a pre-ban mag good to go for any state grandfather clause.
