New Single Stack to replace missed 2011`

So I had some extra funds saved up and was considering looking for another Wilson KZ as I've missed mine since I sold it 3 years ago. I decided to go see what was out there. Found a barely used Para GI Expert for 480 out the door, and brought her home that day. Well, that was Tuesday. I finally had a chance to get to the range last night and i have to say, I am really liking the feel of a single stack, and now have to be careful as I am sure I will be adding more 1911's to my collection. I've always liked shooting 45's and definitely underestimated just how much I missed it.

Would Para have been my first choice? No, but the fit is really nice, the trigger is crisp, the finish isn't bad, though we'll see how long it lasts, and it's reliably on point accuracy wise.

For under $500 it shoots quite nice. I did however go pick up a set of Hogue grips today as I was over-gripping a bit being a long time Glock shooter and should be back at the range tonight to test them out. It does feel a bit better with rubber verses the plastic grips it came with, and for $15 dollars for a set of grips I truly cannot complain. Also picked up a few extra magazines too, and am hoping the Kimber mags I grabbed wont have any issues as I couldn't find any Wilson mags anywhere around here.

Doesn't shoot bad at all, but at $14 /50rds for me right now, I might just put her through her paces and see just how good or bad Para really is. And hell, if I break it, i'll just fix it, sell it, and buy an STI or used Colt.

Actually, I'm contemplating polishing the sides of the slidein front and behind the grooves and leaving the top and grooves in black.

Went to the range for a second time tonight and put 350 more rounds through it. Can't co,plain one bit. I don't know who the previous owner was, but there is wear from the top of the barrel and slide rubbing during cycling that wasn't there when I got it, so I'm thinking it wasn't ever shot before me. I will keep track of the round count and try to keep this updated, but that makes 450 without a hitch.

Also, the Kim-Pro Mags worked flawlessly.

Going to keep putting this gun to the test, but so far, I'm not disappointed.

Once I get to the 2500rds mark, I'll bring it to a quality smith and see what, if any kind of tune up it needs.

Side note, and just a personal preference, I might switch the plastic trigger, yes I said plastic, for an aluminum or steel one. It works just fine though.

I had one also and put about 1000 rounds through it with no problems before selling it. I just didn't like the feel of a double stack. Glad to hear yours is also running good. Congrats.

I'm not a big Para fan, but my GI Expert has been fine.

I should of wrote that I was talking about Paras in general. Alot of people bad mouth them.

right, the Para GI Expert is a 1911, the Wilson KZ is a double stacked polymer frame.
