I am on a waiting list at my LGS for a $600 one.He can't seeem to find any though. The only one on GB is $1150.I'm about ready to say screw it and buy a RIA instead...:faint:

Most the LGS around me said not to expect them tell the end of the year at best. They told me supply is way beyond demand that it has really taken off.

So I suppose the price will get jacked up to full msrp by next year then huh?

Depends on which dealer in my area. I have one that will price match buds or at least come close to buds online prices for me. Then there is the other shop... he normally takes MSRP on anything and adds 30%.

All the distributors I use have them listed as allocated.

I'm glad I got one when I did, but they aren't anywhere now.

There's none on Gunbroker or anywhere else. I like the gun quite a bit.

Prices will most likely be higher next year on the SR.

Is this a case of Ruger cant keep up with demand or is it. Something happened and Ruger is fixing it? I really hope this is a supply and demand thing and not a something happened we need to fix thing.

There is nothing wrong with the SR1911.

Very good to here I take it your still pleased with yours and zero issues to speak of?

Maybe if they do raise prices they will bring a blued/Black finished version out. I would not mine getting one of them and maybe it be a tad cheaper since SS always seems to be a bit more.

I only shot about 75 rounds through mine, but it was perfect. I find it a great 1911 and an awesome value at $600.

These guns are HOT for the price they are for the quality they are. Plus the Ruger name doesn't hurt much either. You would think John Deere made a 1911 (local joke).

75 trouble free rounds is pretty good I read some where most 1911's will give you trouble in the first 100 rounds if there going to so close enough. I want one so bad. I really think if I was lucky enough to run across one locally I have to shell out the money no questions asked.

Now that I think about it I bet you have a tough time going to the range. So many different guns to pick from I bet it can be over whelming to decide what to shoot. I have a hard enough time with my small collection.

Yep, that is why there was someone selling one used for $1150 on GB. I really hope no one bought that.

I'm not looking for an SR1911, but I would wait it out until the market for them balances out if I were (unless I found a good/fair deal of course).

I usually take about six guns with me, with only two being 1911s.

I don't see how another 1911 hitting the streets is even worthy of an arched eyebrow, that it's a Ruger definitely kills my interest! I mean seriously, that companies track record pertaining to the release of new(to them)models is extremely poor, if you just have to have a Ruger 1911 just because it's a Ruger, I'd say wait a minimum of one year so as to gauge the magnitude of their recall.

Ruger made it easy to make fun of them with the recalls in the past. Just because they made mistakes in the past does not mean this project is destined for a recall. Granted, I don't own a SR1911, but I have heard nothing but good about them thus far. I said it before, and say it again.. I think Ruger got this one right. Future history may prove otherwise and I will eat crow for it.

This Ruger seems like a nice pistol. The GunBroker auction for a Used one at $1,150 is rediculous. I just checked, and no one has bid on it. Supply and demand is fine, but these will eventually be everywhere. I'll hold off for mine.

That makes me 3x's as likely to buy a Ruger product. I know unlike another handgun manufacture if there is a issue with there new released product they will man up and fix it no questions asked. Instead of sweepings it under the Rug and pretending it didn't happen.

I put over 2k rounds thought a gun that's suppose to be Perfection and still having small issues creep up from time to time. Last time I called the company I got feed a line of BS about how they cant ship to anyone that's not certified armor. I take Rugers Higher problem rate then delusional Perfection any day.

+1.I got the LC9 in March, had an issue.Sent it back(their dime),got it back in two weeks.800 rounds since without issue. Can't say the same for the previous three "pocket nines" that had issues. The two week wait wasn't fun,but now I have a good, dependable product.

Defiantly nothing wrong with the SR1911. Ruger has made 1911 parts for years and they seemed to take in to account what the public likes in a 1911. I was first surprised to hear it was a 70 series considering the safety sally Ruger is. The price hit me next and after obtaining one the, quality is very good. Ruger has a winner on their hands which is why they're so hard to find.

BTW I'm up to 2,000 trouble free rounds in mine.

Well, it's new, it looks nice not only in finish but options(and lack of), and is priced extremely nice. That is the seller.

I own nothing from Ruger and don't care either way, but the sr1911 is just...read above.

I place a backorder with Impact Guns for one for $629.99 plus $24 shipping. I have no clue when I will get it, but as I've been reading overall good reviews on the internet and it has the features I want except for some minor ones I can fix, I decided to order one. Now the wait begins.

I don't like the dots on the rear Novak Sights. The dot on the front I can likely live with depending on use. I'll blacken the rear dots out and may consider just replacing it as I don't like a recessed blade on my rear sight as it tends to draw my eyes to it. I like a rear sight that I can just look through if that makes any sense.

These two folks are serious Ruger collectors with friends/contacts in the company:

Prescott sources had told me the production is capped at under 15000 units, and all 2011 production had already been allocated.

That said, we "heard" that production was capped at 14,900 units, or, 60 per day, single shift, five day week schedule, manned by four employees(I was so advised last thursday night by an FFL reportedly in the know(?)Apparently, all of this year's production is on order, if that is what "allocated" means.

...........I don't care where the rest are!

It was not rocket science as I placed an order in May from the biggest dealer in Oregon. He brought it along out from PDX in mid June to the local gunshow so I did not have to pay a transfer fee.

IMHO the supply will exceed demand for quite some time so the days of the <$620 Ruger SR 1911 are long gone.
