View Full Version : Looking for a cop dash cam video

It was linked here a year or two ago and now I can't find it. It was a cop in a southern state (maybe Alabama) who was chasing a sedan. The passenger in the sedan starting firing an AK at the cop's car and he started returning fire through his own windshield. After a looooong chase the sedan finally stopped and he engaged the perps, successfully arresting both.

Need the link. Can you help?

Google-fu is weak with me right now.

I believe the incident in question was a Mobile, AL officer who chased the suspect in to Prichard, AL. It was kinda significant because the only reason that there was dash cam footage was because the officer had provided his own camera.

Sadly enough, suspects shooting at officers caught on dashcam does not narrow the search down that much... that says a lot about our society.

I'd work a beat with the officer in that video any day of the week.

I have the full dash cam video without all of the editing somewhere at work. It starts with like five minutes of hauling ass down the interstate either looking with the car or trying to catch up with it or something. When he does catch it, he does the whole pursuit and shots fired thing pretty much all alone and you can hear from the radio chatter that they're having trouble finding somebody to send. IIRC they had units tied up with a different pursuit at the same time.

My adrenaline gets going everytime I watch that video.

What always amazed me was how calm he sounds when he is talking on the radio.

I would work with him any day of the week.

When I first saw that video I was told the Officer was firing his AR through his own windshield.... not his pistol. Weird.
