Range time tomorrow will be the deciding factor as to if it stays or not.
Thanks to Quack for answering the Q's about over travel adjustment.

It really was not that bad,....took about an hour. Shoe has to be sanded a bit.
Adjusting the over travel took the longest.

I may have to try it one day. I'm a bit nervous about triggers, overtravel especially, as some time ago I had a new trigger fit and installed by a well known pistolsmith out of state, and the first time I fired it when I got it back, it chain fired half a mag worth of ammo.

Quuack helped me out with it, I had a few Q's that I could not find in the Kuhnhausen manual.
Pm me & I can explain........very easy! Hardest part is detail stripping the frame 10 or 12 times. :faint:

Not that hard to instal. I installed one in lawdog's NN in my car.

Quack or I could write up a tutorial and post it with some pictures to help. Actually, I have one that I need to instal in one of my project. I can write that instal up.

i have a trigger to install in my hi-cap. wouldn't be the same as installing a 10-8 trigger though.

See the link below for some great info. Keep in mind the 10-8 trigger has a fixed
over travel screw. It will need to be filed to shorten it, (increase over travel)

Yea, I don't like the Wilson because of the hole. I really don't like the look of holes in triggers. I like them solid all the way around!

The flat trigger looks nice. I recently shot one of the new Sig Scorpions with the flat trigger. I liked it so much I ordered one from Brownelles myself.

Also How do you like the VZ ETC's. I have been eyening them myself for my STI. I am diggin the color too. I'm too old school I like wood and/or the look of wood on 1911's. TXPO

Love the VZ ETC grips! Smooth for an easy draw, great grip traction for grip.
I also love the color combo.

faawrenchbndr
08-10-2011, 14:08
Yep, not a great day at the range, was shooting low & left.
Need a bit more time with the flat trigger, headed back tomorrow.

200 more rounds through the Miller Custom Springfield GI.
Flawless, as usual!

Cerebrus
08-10-2011, 15:49
Well what are your opinions on the flat trigger?.. granted not a great range day as you said.. but how did that thing feel?

faawrenchbndr
08-10-2011, 15:52
Felt really good. I was having a problem with the right side grip binding the mag release.
Like an idiot,.......no allen wrenches. Wil not make that mistake tomorrow.

Seems these VZ grips shifted just a hair, & the clearance cut out was not enough for the EMP.

Plan to send a few hundred rounds down range tomorrow.

good to hear.. also that reminds me I need to order slotted grip screws.. that way adjustments can be made with a casing..

I do not mind the Hex heads... now me and the torx screws do not get along!

The ones that came in my TRP were so tight it snapped my (Cheap) torx driver.

How does the Flat trigger measure up with a normal medium or long?

I am using the cheap hex version of the screws I linked, seem fine to me. Machined well and nothing broke...good enough for me!

(I ordered a set of browns with my bushing bit...I don't know if it was needed but it was late. Unless these fall out I will just put them up till needed.)

The flat is equal to the shortest area on a long trigger.

Make sense?
