Just picked up a helluva deal from Bud's last night.. A new in box Sig 1911 Tacops (non-rail) with the full tacpac included (this includes 3 magazines, and Sig kydex holster w/magpouch, and speedloader) for $754 OUT THE DOOR! I had been looking at mil-specs and whatnot for a good long while and then I found this beast for essentially the same price... The decision was simple, after reading dozens of gun reviews about the Sig and finding a good source for holsters, I BOUGHT IT! It should be here mid next week, I'll most definitely be posting pics. I coudn't be more pumped about it, now, does anyone have any tips relating to Sig specific 1911 maintenance and or general information that I could benefit from having just jumped into the 1911 game? Thanks in advance, Semper Fidelis.

I'm really considering a TacOps also, but the carry model with the rail. Congrats!

There is no such gun as a non railed Tac Ops. What you may have is a Tac Pac. Basically an XO with a holster and a laser.

True. The Tac Pac, comes with either a railed Nitron or a non-railed Nitron. Either way, congrats to the OP on a nice new gun. :)

Fedor, I now see the R. Lee Ermey reference which did not appear before for some reason and realize why you must've thought I was slow lol. Anyway, Custom2, yes it's a "Tac Pac" but it's literally same damn thing as the Tac Ops minus the rail so the name stuck. There's no "laser" to speak of in the whole deal aside from everything mentioned in my original post. Everyone else, thanks for the congrats & I'll post pics ASAP!

Based solely off of the fit & finish of this firearm, the dozens of reviews/testimonials I've read, and my own personal knowledge of what truly defines a quality weapon, I wouldn't hesitate to drop $600 for a barely used Sig 1911. Additionally, all of those factors aside, consider that I bought mine for $754 new plus a $35 FFL transfer fee. $175 off of what I paid to go to the local gunshop & pickup a used one? I'd be ALL OVER IT :wow:. Granted mine came with the "Tac-Pac" but still... Good luck finding a better 1911 for $600.

Not just yet, but almost lol. I completed the first 6 weeks of PLC Jrs. this summer at MCB Quantico and have another 6 weeks of training (Seniors) next summer. After that, I will receive my commission as well as orders to report to The Basic School. Please, don't hesitate to PM with any questions you have at all regarding OCS/the Marine Corps/Selection/etc.
