View Full Version : Caesar salad.
I've been on a Caesar salad kick lately, when I eat at a place that serves'em I'll have one. They sure are good:eat:

I don't usually like them unless I make it. I don't like most premade dressing.
One exception, and I know it's a chain restaurant so don't knock it...
I love the way outback does them. Great dressing, great croutons....just a great salad.
I prefer it with real anchovies.

+1x10^10 for Outback.
They will even bring extra dressing on the side if you ask. Best 'chain restaurant' Caesar salad.
With apologies to Matthew, "Render unto Caesar the things which are salad."

This is too cryptic for the Op Doug. :wavey:

I SOOO LOVE ceasar salad!
OHH SO GOOD and if it's on a menu I get it every time.
I can say I've eaten in some very high zoot resturants but
the best ceasar I've had was in a tiny town-Old Hazelton BC.
A place called Rob's Pizza, the owner is a European trained Chef and the pizza, calzones, pasta dishes and of course the cesar salad are superb.

My favorite restaurant makes a Hamburger Caesar with a 12 oz burger -- it rocks.

Good that they had the Polaroid One Step back in 50 B.C.
They got any snapshots of Hannibal?
They're good and good for you.

Make them at home then at least you'll know who sneezed in it.
and you can have a raw egg in it
I prefer it with real anchovies.

I'm a chef in a fine dining restaurant, just got off a 9 hour shift and I must say I love Caesar salads but I just made so many that it is the last thing I wanna think about right now. Fresh is best! I love our caesars.
As far as fast food salads go, Wendys chicken caesar is my favorite.
Are you prepared to coddle eggs, okie?

Don't be embarassed Okie. Almost no one knows. Like shirred eggs.
There's a million ways to cook an egg, but outside of 4 or 5 of them, no one gives two craps.
It's basically very very lightly cooking the egg. People do it so they can tell themselves they aren't using raw egg in their dressing. But I doubt it gets the temperature up enough to really kill any bacteria. So I don't bother with the hassle and use it raw.

Now I get it, thanks my friend:supergrin:

I coddled an egg once.
Still not allowed back in that state.
okie, if you coddle an egg, never admit to it.
Just don't do it.

Texas Roadhouse, BEST Caeser salad EVER!!! Even better, their Black and Blue salad, Caesar salad with a nice 6 oz. sirloin sliced on top. Scrumptious!
I made one yesterday with fried calamari on top... So good!
I prefer it with real anchovies.

To me a Caesar salad is something best served to a Senator you don't care for. Perhaps a spring loaded blade hidden beneath the lettuce?
