The last FexEx package I got said FRAGILE on every side. The box was almost rounded. It looked like they played soccer with it. :steamed: Amazing packing job by the sender though, the item was not damaged.

Damn,.....that really sux to hear.

Yup, it was about $25,000.00 worth of animals I had to replace... FedEx only "insured" up to $1000.00 and then they have to have an investigation... That was a joke!

A while back I used to Flea-Bay guitars. I had a CS Stratocaster I parted out,
the neck got mangled by UPS. In the end I got screwed because I packed it, not them.
UPS only insures something above $100 if THEY pack it. I was out about $1k on that one.

I had a set of golf clubs shipped via FedEx that I got for my Dad They were supposed to be here on the 25th of July. It was getting late so I called FedEx and they said they would be here no later than 6 pm... 6 pm got here ad no clubs... Called them again no they said the driver was still out and would be here by 7pm... 7pm comes, still no clubs.. Call again and the rep says "they stay out as late as 9 pm". Every time I called the person said they guaranteed they would be here that evening... 5 minutes after I get off the phone with them for the last time, I get a email update saying the driver didn't make an attempt to deliver them, and they would try again the following day... FedEx really does have the head up their butts... I eventually canceled my account with them...

Yes,.......insured for $1100,....I got $100.

Loss seems to be different than damage with UPS

at work we ship a few thou worth of supplies every day. most complaints come from receivers miscalculating the actual delivery date. with new customers they often think date of delivery means they can wait to the last minute and forget the delivery time generally means sometime that day.

Seems when USPS gives you a "expected delivery date" they should stick to it.
Where the heck is that a miscalculation on the receiver's part? That is USPS stating
a delivery on Saturday, and not getting it to the business until Monday!

Hence,........USPS dropped the flippin ball! No wonder they are on their way out!

anyplainjoe
08-15-2011, 21:05
it was 'expected', not guaranteed. that's the miscalculation.

USPS is have problems b/c of the internet, wage costs, and highly unprofitable routes.

Call it what you like,......they say one thing & do another!
And with no real time tracking, their service is outdated and lacking.

I shipped out 5 STI 2011 , S&W 1911, S&W M&P all in the same box back to the customer . I insured in for the max with USPS . Then I lit a candle , did the rosary and hit it with some holy water before I dropped it off!

No matter what currier you use it always seems like you are taking a gamble. USPS lost a customers gun on me that was sent priority.

Luckily it showed up after 5 days.Hopefully yours will do the same.
