I've only tried a 97 once, around 2004 and it had a trigger job done. All I can really remember was how laser accurate it was and the trigger was superb. Big grip too.

I dearly want a 45 with the same ergonomics as my trusty 75BD. Tried a Witness, realized the sights were totally screwed up so natural aiming ability was futile. Sold that thing two weeks later after giving it a fair try.

How does the 97 do with LRN ammo? Is the DA trigger pull stiff like my 75 was, and can you get Wolff springs for it? Does the grip size throw off natural POA or is it like my 75?

I'll more than likely be using it for HD and IDPA, relegating the Glock for carry (or selling it). I know it's very heavy, so kinda waffling on getting one.

Mine works great.

Its a big gun, but shoots very well.

This is dated but show some good pics.

My custom 97B was the most accurate of any CZ to date.

They also seem to go up in price each year.

Nice pics, thanks. You're not kidding about the price, the more 'reasonable' gun store down the road wants $685 for the BD model that I want.

Like the RAMI BD and Limited Edition 75 Stainless.

The 97BD comes with real factory tritium nites..so the seemingly high price seems reasonable.

No kidding, didn't know that.

I put my 97b on layaway today. The shop's normal suppliers were out of stock so they're having to get one directly from Kansas. Gonna be a long two weeks.

Our 97B is a great shooter. It is a large stable platform from which to launch .45 projectiles and the trigger is pretty good out of the box. Combined with the very good ergos that all CZ pistols seem to have, our 97B is an easy pistol to shoot well. Unfortunately, it is too large and heavy for us to carry conveniently.

We trudge on.

Is your 97 as fantastic as you thought it would be?

The ultimate CZ for those who like to put big bullets into tiny groups!

Still nothing from the shop. No word when they'll get one in. I don't want to, but another shop has one for $720 which frankly is outrageous but with the big question mark over the other place it's looking more attractive.

I do have another question though. I can get a factory CZ magazine for $45, or the Witness 45 marked 'T' for $24. It doesn't have a MecGar stamp. Which should I go with?
