View Full Version : Might end up being a great deal...
After a day of boredom at work I couldn't help browsing through Gunbroker and stumbled across this - http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=246623238
The ad lacks some detail but this looks like a fairly involved built rather than some of the basic MM pistols that have popped up lately. I have a feeling this one is going to sell for a good price considering the name attached. I thought about placing a few bids to a certain price, but haven't decided if I will just yet. I just think there won't be too many bidders is all...see if I'm right or not.

Could be a very nice score,.......I wonfer how many lurkers there are?
I always wonder the same. I have a feeling it will sell in the mid to upper $3K range, which is a steal considering brand new prices. Damn myself for having control on buying...
Not to be a jerk, but how does it differ from any other custom 1911?

If I were you I would hesitate buying any 1911 at any price point:supergrin:

Arguably, he probably builds one of the best 1911's in the world.

I can't talk myself into any 1911's right now...not until I unload my SA's.
IF I ever buy another 1911 from one of the shops, it would only come from two; Wilson or Baer. Neither has given me any real issues, in comparison to some, so I figure no sense fixing what's not broken. Even then, I've taken a real liking to my M&P 9 and P30...might just stick to 9mm all-around.

I'll take that drake off your hands, but it will have to be dirt cheap.

I already have someone who has dibs on it should I ever sell it, but it's not going to be dirt cheap :wow:. Outside of a mag pad issue and plunger spring causing my slide lock failures, it's G2G.
Just sent the slide back to Drake for a night sight too...might use it if I go back to a 1911 for CCW, but that's a big if right now.

That should be a sweet set up, I love that gun

I wish I had known of his work sooner, I wouldn't have spent as much money elsewhere. I asked him about a build but he told me he wasn't planning to take any new work for some time, too bad.
Mark builds a great 1911 and he's a great guy to talk to and deal with.
I love mine. :)

Nice weapon from a respected builder. Starting price of $2500 seems cheap for a gun that probably sold $7000 new.
Market demand justifies Morris' prices. I've not yet cultivated the sophisticated taste to appreciate his artwork - at least not all $7000 of it.
But for $2500, I'm in all day long.
