We finally got the calf yesterday, but we lost her mother

She got the calf yesterday late afternoon and everything looked good.
This morning (Sunday), when I checked on them, Clara was lying there on her side with all the guts outside
. I had to put her down.
But it looks like we can safe the boy. We named him Georgo after an italian child story of a boy who lost his parents

Looks like he is doing ok
We got some colostrum for the first two days from a Dairy Farm just 10 minutes from us. Today we changed to milk. Will send a pic sometime this week :)

OSSI, I can't tell you how many calves I helped my dad raise due to some reason that the mother died or had to be put down. I have a feeling he will be just fine!

Sorry for the loss of the cow, but at least you are able to save her baby. :hearts:

And next week we get another one, a girl from that Jersey Dairy Farm it is 3 days old ,has has been abandoned by the mother. :) :) :)
