....or prny or anyone else that is on the North Eastern Coast that has been or will be impacted by Irene?

prny and chifey seem to be fine from postings on FB.... nothing from the VR clan...

Hmmm. I wasn't planning to go back to facebook so soon.

I wonder if I should since I have several friends that are impacted by Irene.

....maybe just during the storm?

I think I made the right choice and I went back on Facebook, at least for the weekend.

I have spoken to both Sharon and Chiefy.

Sharon says she's not expecting much...power outage...but appreciates the thoughts and prayers. Of course, they are ready, but still waiting.

Eric says the worst of the storm is about 3 hours away...and it hasn't been too bad yet. 60 mile/ hour winds. Some trees down and power lines down...but not much more than that at this point. The worse is yet to come.

I have one friend from high school that was on vacation in Myrtle Beach. They decided to have "fun" and stay in the hotel. Everyone begged them to go inland. Her last post was 18 hours ago. Please remember her and pray for her. We are all pleading with her to let us know that they are okay. I can't believe she made that choice, growing up in Florida. Of course, she's been gone for years, and until 2004, we never had a really bad storm in Central Florida.

I JUST stumbled on a post by the friend I mentioned in the above post.

She posted her horoscope about an hour ago. So, it appears that she is okay, if the time on the post is accurate!

Karen, good to know. Thank you. :hugs:

You are welcome! :hugs:

I've been the one waiting out the hurricane, so I guess my empathy rate here is VERY high! :)

Make that "hurricaneS". The sitting and waiting is no fun...neither is the going through the storm...

Someone just told me that the horoscopes are autoposted, so that doesn't mean she posted it.

I don't do horoscopes, so I didn't know that. Makes sense though.

So, does anyone know how Myrtle Beach was or wasn't impacted by Irene?

I've had the tele on hurricane coverage all morning, but they are mostly talking about the DC area and what is to come.

I JUST this moment got a message from my friend that had not posted since sometime yesterday.

She lost power and all internet connections shortly after she posted.

She is now safe and sound at her home. They left Myrtle Beach today and arrived home safely!

She was thankful for our thoughts and prayers!

God is so good! I've known her since 7th grade!
