Gonna hopefully go to the indoor range today and shoot my 9x25 for the first time. I got the LW stock length barrel and a box of Doubletap 95grn FMJ's. It took me days to decide between the stock length and the 6". I bought it for the boom factor so im not concerned about losing any FPS, who knows I may have to get the 6" some day also. I already get looks when I shoot my 10.8 Bluedot 10mm loads in there so the 9x25 should be fun.

If you can, post some flame pics. Should be great firing the 9x25 Dillon indoors.

Welcome to the club!!! I'm always excited to see a new 9x25 Dillon enthusiast. That stock length barrel should spit even bigger flames than my 6" Barrel does, so you should have a blast and turn some heads at the indoor range.

My favorite FIREBALL load is a 90gr JHP/14.5gr Blue Dot/CCI300. The same 90gr JHP over 12.2gr Longshot & CCI350's (2050fps) sounds like a RIFLE, and throws a damn good flame too. As always, if you use these loads, work up slowly from 1.0gr lower. Head over to the 10mm Reloading Forum, lots of education there.

Awesome. I appreciate you throwing your recipe out there. Blue dot is my go to 10mm powder. I just need to get the 9x25 dies.

That's the only hard part to swallow...
$140 for dies is pretty steep, but it's our only choice. They cost is so high because they have 2 carbide rings, one for the case & one for the neck. They were worth every every penny, and I'm a 9x25er for life.

You should be able to get similar if not the same performance with BD as I have with LS. Good Luck!

Sweet thanks. Shooting is not gonna happen today, wating list for a lane as usual at the range. A 7 lane range that does not have a time limit is frustrating to say the least. Even the weekdays are getting ridiculous, 45 minute waits on the weekend from open to close.

Congrats....!

One thing about a 6 incher is you can always find a hacksaw...

I am seriously considering handloading for my 9X25 set up. Perhaps this fall.....it is lots of fun to shoot..!.

bmoore, congrats! I suppose you are shooting from the G-20 as your setup?
The shorter barrels do leave you short on the velocity as I have learned...but they cartridge is still great from the short barrels.

I shoot from m S&W1006 w/5.00" barrel and Glock 29 w/3.78" and chrono shows the difference between them. I have started out using Blue Dot and I'm still working to refine some loads, but have since learned from taking down the DT cartridges that he was using LongShot(thanks to the help from others) and made notes of the various powder charge weights. Then I was able to duplicate the results as tested from my guns.

The 9x25 does require attention to details, especially headspacing and bullet tension. Don't waste your time trying to resize an aluminum casing into a 9x25, it will split! I was going to put together some dummy rounds but that didn't work out using aluminum...live and learn!

If you find yourself needing any assistance, by all means be sure to ask!

Best regards!

Thanks a lot I appreciate it. Yeah I was planning on just using new Starline 10mm brass. Probably wont get the dies for another few weeks or so due to my fun money shortage.........got a Pietta black powder revolver and that bug bit me big time.

This reminded me that I had the same issues trying to size some 9x25 Dillon cases out of Nickel Plated Remington Brass. Every single piece split. Starline is all I use now.

bmoore, just to let you know, having _The_Shadow around is like having our own personal 9x25 Dillon YODA...

I wonder what happen to JTKnives, he was putting together the http://www.9x25.com/ website but haven't heard anything further since he put the site up with limited stuff/data on it. I had sent him some data but nothing has changed in that time frame. I hope JT is OK!

Another note for bmoore, the 9x25Dillon's neck requires a 9mm expander of some type, with the Dillon press, people use the powder thru the expander setup, working on my single stage press I use the RCBS 9mm expander die and may even try the Lee 357Sig expander to see what results I can get too.

I bought 500 pieces of the Double Tap brass to add to my other DT brass for the properly marked 9x25 headstamps which is nice!

Ok cool. Im gonna have to PM you when I get ready to reload the beast. I reload 10mm and 223 on my Lee classic breechlock and am quite happy with it. My dad has a square deal B which is a great machine. I just looked on Dillons site, looks like 131 for the 9x25 dies. Maybe I will grab a set of Lee 9mm dies for 29 bucks from Midway to have the expander, that way I will have dies for the old 9 iron also.

The Dillon 9x25 dies include the sizer, the seater and the taper crimp that is all!
But as mentioned above the sizer has two carbide sections 10mm body and 9mm neck. The seater and taper crimp have double ended plugs one side for round nose the other is ther TC shape, pull the pin and flip the plug.

The LEE 9mm expander die that came with the 4 die set I initially bought, did NOT work with the 9x25 Dillon neck. Unlike the LEE 9mm expander die (which is a powder-through die), the RCBS 9mm expander die has a large enough internal diameter to accept the 10mm case. If you're loading on a single stage, do yourself a favor and get the RCBS set. I found out the hard way...
