Pulled the trigger (har har) on a P30 9mm LEM (V2) today. The trigger pull when decocked is incredibly heavy... must be 15+ pounds. Way heavier than my S&W 642 revolver (which is like 12 or something?). I assume this is normal? I know the only time this can happen is on a second strike so it's not a big deal, but it's really something.

All my HK's are non LEM and owned the USP's since the 90's. My P30s V3 DA trigger is not bad at all a good bit less than my HKc. I dry fired and put some Militec-1 on the main spring of the HKc and that helped alot. Sorry i cannot help with any LEM questions about your HK.

There are 2 guys who i know will have a answer who should be around soon. Since you have a HK the HKPro is a great forum on HK's...this would be answered very fast they know LEM's there and HK...good luck sure sounds very heavy to me..

The "normal" LEM pull is fine. It's supposed to be the V2 so like 7.5 lbs. Ran about 200 rounds through it with no problems. I've read that the decocked pull should be around 10, just like the old DAO system but this is heavier than 10 it seems to me. Maybe it just seems heavier because all the weight stacks at the end just before it breaks, unlike a revolver.

The LEM's heavy pull on the second strike is completely normal.

The second pull is due to the springs not being pre-loaded. Rack the slide and you will have a normal LEM v2 trigger pull. All is normal as you describe.

Normal. Most LEM configurations use a heavier than normal mainspring. When you rack the slide the spring is under tension so that the LEM trigger pull is only moving a portion of the spring weight.

If you have a dud and attempt second strike, the slide did not cycle, your previous trigger pull released all tension on the spring so your attempt to second strike will be against the full force of the mainspring. Bonus is that the heavier mainspring usually results in very strong primer strikes so hard primers shouldn't be an issue. Just an outright dud.
