I had a buddy send me the link below. He was interested in taking the companies course. It struck me that the fellow on the front page looked familiar - perhaps a GTR member but I can't place a name:

This reminded me to haul that barca lounger out to the range. All that standing really gets to me.

How do you explain to your squad sergeant that the bad guy got away 'cause you shot yourself while doing gymnastics like Kathy Rigby? :dunno:

Do people really pay for this kind of training?

Who the hell took this photograph, anyway?

I'd feel ok taking photos like this with Stevie, because as long as you're standing directly in front of him, you're pretty safe, but it just seems a little sketchy.

To be fair, we shoot a supine stage about once a year at IDPA matches. But we don't shoot between our legs.

Now that I look closer I think the guy on the right grunted out a Tactical chili bomb and the fellow next to him had to turn away whilst battling the bad guys and struggling for oxygen. Gotta be careful of muzzle flash in that situation no Blue Dot for sure. I'd be requesting a new partner though.

Ah, that's the problem... I'm a newb when it comes to things like that. Guns are dangerous, they scare me. :scared:

While not the optimal shooting position, you had better know there is a possibility that you will get knocked down in a fight, the BG on top and able to get up quicker and ruin your day. You fight like you train. Fights are not planned events and there is no guarantee your opponent is not bigger stronger faster or just plain luckier than you. Granted I am not sure I wanna be shooting between my legs like the 1911 warrior on the right but that is the kind of stuff you may be forced to do in a real world encounter. :whistling:

Actually I was referring to the guys doing the nifty little summersaults between shots. This may be the way it's done in real world situations, I wouldn't know. I'm sure I'd freeze if someone pointed a gun at me and start crying like a little girl. I'll leave the dangerous stuff to others... I'm a lover, not a fighter.

A bad situation can always be made worse by shooting yourself in the leg.

Yeah, those somersaults were crazy. Somebody posted a question about that, they came back with some crap.

No WAY do I ever try that in a real gunfight. I might squat or something to give a different target, but not tumbling.

Buncha ninja tacticool crap if you ask me.

I wonder if that school is run by Gecko45. I hear he was a master at somersaulting while shooting. :whistling:

I'm going to have to ask Jack if someone yells out 'CONTACT' in a real social situation as well.

I watched the video...they looked stoopit. Until, I read that the did it to increase their heart rate. I dunno, maybe the could have done a few jumping jacks and achieved the same results?

We just got a kick-ass eliptical machine with a heart rate monitor. I'll crank it up and do some dry fire and see how it works out. It's too heavy to bring to the range though.

The Russians need to incorporate that Curly Howard runnin' in a circle on the ground move too. That would totally confuse the Muslim terrorists. Nyuk nyk nyuk.

I've seen this technique before. I believe it was called tactical circumcision. I think it's usually employed just before a gunfight to show your oponent that you are no one to be trifled with. If done poorly, it strays into tactical vasectomy territory. It's a good idea to avoid the technique with ported barrels or large bore revolvers like the 500s&w mag. I prefer the tactical colonoscopy, but only when performed on your opponent. That technique was the original reason for placing the slide serrations on the front as well as the back of the slide. Not advisable with the fishgill glock models, though.

I don't know about you guys, but I figure after the ninja yells "contact," then misses me, I could shoot him 5 or 6 times as he rolls around on the ground... twice as he moves forward in preparation for the stellar gynastic presentation, once each in the back and buttocks as he starts to roll foward, and twice more as he comes out of the fancy sommersault (still without any cover whatsoever).

Of course, if the rules etiquette for modern gun fights require me to also shout "contact," then I am a dead man. ;)

Same thing when BEARS attack. That's why I practice shooting over my shoulder as I run a 10 second hundred. You just never know when it will come in handy.

That's why when in bear territory, you always go with a person that runs slower than you.
And shoot him in the foot to make sure !

"I don't have to outrun the Bear, I only have to outrun YOU !"
