View Full Version : I just cleaned ...
my beloved Ruger P90.
I had forgotten how much fun getting the slide back on is.
Only took me two tries. :cheerleader:
I now reek of Hoppe's #9. :elephant:

Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought the scent of #9 rather pleasant. Which may be why I have the cleanest guns in Florida.

You need a P90, then.

So it's not just me. And my ex said I was crazy. No wait...that was about something else.
Hoppes is good stuff. Has one of those unexpected pleasant aromas. Other things... fresh cut grass, new car, fresh money, auto mechanic shop, napalm in the morning, etc.
For really tough jobs, I use Shooters Choice. Not so pleasant aroma and good ventilation is advisable.
Hoppes is my standard though.

"The most interesting man in the world" would be more so with Hoppes on his beard.

Naptha is good stuff but will eat your liver with fava beans faster than alcohol will. Outside only!
<---also likes the smell of hoppes.
P90 is an surprisingly accurate .45.

Tough too, always thought it should have been chambered in a proper caliber, if you know what I mean:cool:

My dream man uses hoppes # 9 as his after shave!!!
That would be a dream, I can't imagine what that would feel like on my face after shaving, not that I am a dream man or anything.
Tough too, always thought it should have been chambered in a proper caliber, if you know what I mean:cool:
Yep it would've made a nice 10mm too.

.41 ae?
Danged system won't let me edit this danged post! :fist:
Should be .41 AE.
:laughabove:
.50 Beowulf.
Yep it would've made a nice 10mm too.
Oddly, I shoot my P90 well. I have little girl hands and the Rugers have 2 x 4 grips, but it just seems to fit me comfortably.
Heck, all this talk about shootin' and cleanin' ... I'm going to the range as soon as it's light. And I'm taking my P90 and P220 along with me. The 1911s will just have stay in the safe and feel left out.
:cowboy:
Oh, wait ... the 645 just said it wanted to go, too. :dancingbanana:
Sounds like a .45 kinda day.

If'n it cain't be a 10mm day, next best thing.
The good thing is, later today I'll have 500 reloadable cases! :elephant:

I heartily concur about the .41 Magnum
Nifty cartridge.

Now that you mention it, I remember that.
I have never had a hankerin' for a Desert Eagle, maybe because with my little girl hands the grip is just too chunky.
For me, the .41 Magnum is fired from a Model 57 or 58. Maybe a Redhawk.
My Model 57 is a four inch. I'd love to have a six inch.
Or a Blackhawk with an eight inch barrel. :snoopy:
<---loves .41 mag too. If i remember correctly Coonan was going to do a .41 mag at one time :thatwouldabeenreallycool:
Also a 4" barrel redhawk would be cool too.

DE in .41mag is pretty fun to shoot. Feeds good if the ammo is really hot.
Still, I would get the DE in .50 first, just seems better suited to that style of gun.

I was thinking the same thing, but of course, we usually do the think the same. That would be like a Coonan model KA for Kicks Arse:supergrin:

:supergrin:A Coonan Cadet model in .41 mag would make a great duty gun.

Ooopsie.
I pulled my Model 57 out of the safe and it's a three inch, not a four inch. :ack:
I have never been a big fan or revolver cartridges in an auto-pistol, but the Coonan is interesting. If I ever see one for sale, it may have to come home with me.
:cowboy:
Pics Tous, must have pics.
You carry the 57 don't you?
Snubbie revolvers are my favorites anyway, 2.5 to 3" k frames .3" 629 or 57/657 uber cool.
Coonan is up and running again. Maybe couldbe a .41mag this time around??? :IhopeIhopeIhope:

57-no dash
Born in the late 1960s, if I recall.
The fact that the .41mag version is a 357 has always made me chuckle. I wonder how many "who's on first?" type conversations have gone on since it's introduction.
"i need some ammo for my 357?"
"you want 38s or 357s sir?"
".41mags of course"
"but you said 357?!?"

I'm always hunting for a Redhawk in .41 Magnum or a 58 six inch at the local gun stores.
I can usually negotiate a good deal. Not liek they have folk lined up around the block to buy one. :cowboy:
A Redhawk in 4" .41mag would be very useful.
