I picked up a used G17 that had aftermarket sights installed.

I tried them a couple of times at the range, but I'm just not happy with the sight picture they provide..

I'd like less 'space' around the front sight. I'm looking for suggestions on replacing either the rear or front sight to tighten up the sight picture. I'd rather not replace both if I don't need to.

Call Dawson Precision and talk to Kathy. They have a lot of different height and width front sights that will fill your needs quite well. From your pictures, it seems you have the .105 front sight. Get the .125 wide and you will be a lot happier. Your front looks like a Dawson but the rear is some other make.

Thanks jfrey, I will contact them tomorrow.

Here's a different picture of the rear sight. Any ideas who makes it?

Probably gonna catch flack for this... but I'm actually partial to the factory Glock sights. Had a put a set of Tru-Dot night sights on my G22, ended up switching back to the stockers.

Here's why; I found that in very low light, while I could see the sights just fine, it was hard to see what was beyond the sights when looking across them. "Blinded by the light" so to speak. In the same lighting, I could see the glock sights plenty good enough, AND still see what was beyond them.

If it's so pitch black that you can't see the bright white Glock sights, how the hell are you going to see what you're shooting at? In that situation, you don't need brighter sights, you need a light.
