View Full Version : IMI bullets for .40 reloading
Has anyone used IMI FMJ bullets for reloading .40 S&W? If so, were the results good? So far all I've used are Berry's, Rainier, Hornady XTP's, and Speer TMJ's. I don't guess I can shoot well enough to tell much of a difference, except that I seem to like the feel of the heavier bullets, like 155, 165 and 180 grain, vs the 135 grain bullets. I just wondered if IMI's seem to work well.
Nobody has used these bullets?
Nope. Got a link?
IMI components have been difficult to find for quite a while, might be why shooters have little experience with them.
i thought IMI was top stuff. my buddy Rob(God rest his soul)swore by anything IMI.
as mentioned above, it's been years since i've seen anything for sale by IMI. there used to be a company that ran an ad in the shotgun news, towards the back and they always had IMI brass or bullets or something IMI, along w/other brands; probably over 10 years ago.
I used to use IMI (Israeli Military Industries) stuff all the time in the late 80's? - early 1990's? Somewhere around there.
It was all top notch stuff. I never used 40 cal anything. But I used their 9mm bullets to load ammo and their ammo in 9mm, 223 Remington/5.56 NATO, 38 Special, 357 magnum and 44 magnum. Their 62 grain load in my Colt HBAR was more accurate than the wildy more expensive match grade ammo from Federal and Hornady with their 68-69 grain hpbt match bullets.
I received 1000 16g gr IMI 40 cal bullets a few weeks ago, but I haven't loaded them up yet.
Interesting shape though.
