Another active shooter, five uniformed Nevada National Guard Members plus six civilians shot, how tragic, sounds like another nut case.

I guess my question is why were the NNG folks not armed? I am so paranoid I won't wear a PD hat much less go unarmed.

They were probably unarmed for the same reason all those troops at Ft Hood were unarmed: the brass doesn't want to take the heat if one of the joes gets dumb. Instead, it is much better to disarm the same people that are trained and trusted to carry a belt fed 24/7 in a war zone instead of expecting members of the military to carry and be proficient with at least a 9mm stateside during war time, I mean, during periods of overseas contingency operations.
