I'm about to load 357 mag, all i have are Winchester sp & Tula SP. Hornady manual calls for WSPM, can I load them with WSP?
Thanks in advance.

depends on what powder you're using.

H110 for example, has to have magnum primers.......

I have Unique, Bullseye, HP-38, 2400, TG, & H110.

NORMALLY, using a less powerful primer will not increase chamber pressure.

If you're planning to load H110, it'll probably be OK provided you're not shooting in cold weather BUT BUT BUT, you need to be aware of possible squib-loads. If a shot doesn't sound right, STOP and check for possible bullet-in-barrel obstruction.

The other powders you listed SHOULD light just fine with the weaker primer.

It is ALWAYS a good idea to find load data for the components you have on hand. There are several on-line reloading guides.

All of my reloading books are packed away pending our move to our permanent home in Indiana but someone here must have some small primer load data. You'll need to list the exact bullets you're using.

I have the latest hornady edition & the Lyman. Both manuals call for spm primer.
Btw I'm using 158g RNFP & LSWC.

I'd say use your Unique for mid-range loads, 2400 for your full power and a standard small pistol primer for both.

As others have said, if your using H110/W296 you should use magnum primers. The other powders you have small pistol primers will be fine.

^^This^^^ Just because it says magnum doen't mean yo have to use mag primers. The only time I ever use mag primers is w/ H110/W296 in any of magnum rounds from 357 thru 44mag & heavy 45colts, just not needed otherwise.

Agree sp for all your powders except the H110 use only Mag primers with it! You can load some pretty snappy loads with the Unique powder!
