I was reloading today and noticed I accidentally loaded 2 cases of Federal NT brass. I had read about the Federal NT brass having crimped primer pockets so i had separated them and decided not to load them. 2 must have snuck by and I loaded them without problem. This is once fired (I fired) brass. I went out and shot them- no problems. So I decided to load the rest of them- 150 in all. Only three of them gave me a problem with primers, but they went in the second time around.

Is there something else I should look out for when I shoot them?

Hmm, isn't the NT brass small pistol primers? I am not sure how you could accidently load them?

Federal NT brass in .45 is SPP. The 9 or .40 is tight in the primer pocket but really haven't had issues with my XL650 priming them.

Agreed. NT brass can work fine. But, start mixin' and matching primers and you'll likely have issues eventually; at least I have in my SDB. I run SPP and SPPM, and whatever primer I get cheapest. So, I just toss NT when I see it; just easier that way. NT is SPP in .45acp and that is fairly annoying.

Yeah, see, my head goes right to 45acp reloading when NT is mentioned.:faint:

Is there something else I should look out for when I shoot them? The ground opening up and The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Maybe a small rash or somethin'.

I am loading 9mm. I guess I should have mentioned that. I am happy to hear that as long as I can load it in 9 I will be good. I have about 500 rounds of American Eagle TMJ I got on sale. I was already considering tossing the brass after I shot it but now I will have more brass to reload. I cant wait to shoot, so I can get back to reloading.

I didn't believe it when I read that it was fun to reload. But I have found it to be quite enjoyable.

Thanks,
Richard

They may have larger than usual flash holes which may make them shoot differently.
