Well, I've never said I was infalliable, lol. I might have been right in a different instance as my grandfather was a gunner's mate on a much older battleship with different size guns. Either way it is impressive as hell!

Rzrbk8, I wasn't trying to be a smart*****, I just happened to see and learn about the charge on the History Channel...and I was truly amazed. Here I've been trickling up to 17-23 gr of powder loading .45LC and such, or 45-50 gr for .308! Let's see...23 gr @ 7000 gr/lb = 0.0032857 lb. Jeeeez that seems puny!

It's black powder IIRC, the grains are the size of your thumb.

All this is out of memory from when the Iowa popped a turret in the early 90s...
