Windows movie maker?

I had a newer version of windows movie maker and somehow it was messing up my computer (it would freeze up when i opened it) so now i have version 2.6. Anyway i was wondering if there was a better video editing software i could download (free) that's better than wmm?

When looking for freeware I start with C-Net.

Never used this app, I use Pinnacle Studio HD.
