My humble setup

My press was delivered to my door on the 1st of September, and I think I've come a long way in a little less than 4 weeks. I'd like to post some pictures and a description of my setup and I welcome comments/critique.

To start, I picked up a Lee Pro 1000 9mm kit from Midway and powder/primers from local stores in town. Bullets were either purchased locally or from Missouri Bullet Co, as seen in the pictures. I've reloaded close to 1,000 rounds in 3 weeks and they're running great for the most part.

My shelves. All brass is sorted in buckets, with clean 9mm in the large grey one. Also have a laptop with my reloading data on it for reference, and for music:

I picked this up from Harbor Freight. It works great. The finished rounds fall into the second slot, and bullets are in a perfect spot to pick up in the first. I use the third and fourth slot for problem cases or good primers that fell for whatever reason:

I've been loading on my Pro1000 since 1986. It's actually turned pink. We sophisticated reloaders who are capable of running a Pro1000 refer to this as a patina.

Thanks. I hope to have mine that long and still be interested in reloading. I go through hobbies pretty quick, but I've been shooting forever and this gets me out to the range A LOT so I don't see quitting any time soon.

The target wasn't kept because I thought it was great, but more because it was my first.

Speaking of old... I heard a crunch setting a primer and remembered I still need to separate the crimped brass. Checked the headstamp when it came around and saw this. Wonder where it's been all these years...

Thanks for sharing. I'm also new to reloading, and am always looking to see how everyone else has their gear/supplies setup.

Q: Do you separate the brass from your loads from the other brass? Or is it mixed in with the other "dirty" brass? I guess that I'm trying to find out how you keep count of your reloads. Or, do you reload until the brass is cracked or inspects as unusable?

Oh boy, a newb posting doctored up targets... are you a distant relative of Wisky?

'93 is old brass... I don't have any newer than '62. :crying:

Good job with your set-up, you're coming right along. Would have been hard to pick a better gun than an STI... don't let Wisky shoot it, then he won't have any excuses.

My very first run through I separated all of my WWB brass from everything else, and then I realized it took a lot of time to do and didn't really help anything. Now I toss it all in a bucket, sort by caliber, and then tumble when they get full enough or I need brass. I reload until it cracks, and I'll pick almost anything up off the ground. I'm an equal opportunity reloader. I've only found one split case so far, and for all I know it could have been on the ground already.

I can't fake them anymore with Titegroup. It spits blue bullet lube all over the targets unless I'm a good ways away.

I loaded a metric ton of rounds on 2 Pro 1000's back in the early 90's. Congrats!
