Hit and run with serious injury or death here is a major felony now. If he caused the accident, it is upgraded one level. Even if is classified a non-serious incident by statute - he is still looking at a significant felony.

He'll lose his license from 3 years revocation to 5 years revocation, both mandatory. The DUI sanctions are tough as well.

What a fool.

Not very smart. I think the penalty will be determined by all the facts and his prior record, if any.

Not to cause any complications but a similar thing happened to me with me arresting the Hit & Run off duty officer. He swears that he was sober when it happened but got home and started drinking to ease the pain and he was just getting ready to call the police and turn himself in when we pulled up.
Everyone believed him....:wow:
