Does anybody have an 870 from Wilson combat? I'm thinking about maybe getting one just to have. I was just wondering if they were worth the cost.

In my opinion, an 870 is an 870. The Wilson is an 870 with some bling, and very overpriced. But to each his own.

Just add a sling, ammo carrier, and a light.......

Why a sling on a combat shotgun?

I mean it makes sense if you're field dressing a deer and dragging it to your truck and you need both hands free. Are you going to field dress a home invader and drag him to the truck?

You always leave your shotgun at home???

You wouldn't drag around a handgun without a holster....would you? A long gun without a sling, is like a handgun without a holster! http://www.thewilderness.com/storepinnacle/index.php?p=catalog&parent=152&pg=1

My shotguns are at home or at the range. Where else would I bring them?

I have a Wilson Combat 870 Express Magnum SBS 12" with Knoxx Spec Ops, night sights, 3 pt. Sling and 6 shell sidesaddle finished in the grey armour coat.
I've had it since 2007. And wouldn't get rid of it for anuything.

There are some things, where if you don't get it....you don't get it!

I see no need for a sling on an HD but every HD should have the capacity. Most training courses require a sling so having the mounts and a sling handi for those times is smart.

I saw homeowners barricading their neighborhoods after Andrew and of course only letting Officials and residents in. They had to do this to protect from looting as there was no Emergency response for the first few days. They had every manner of weapons and this would be a scenerio where you would want a sling on your shotgun as you would be holding it for hour at a time.

So, yes there are applications for slings on these weapons but I would not keep it on the weapon for HD.
