Anybody have one of these?

I've been thinking about picking one up for my 1300 Defender and maybe also another for my 870P. I'll be using it mainly for a flashlight mount, probably with QD rings.

Thanks for any input.

I had one. My only concern with it is that the aluminum threads would strip after a few reinstalls. If it had helicoils it would be better.

Thanks for the reply,

That Wilson one looks nice but more than I need. It's almost twice the price also. I want something simple that I'll only be mounting a light on. It's coming down to the Nordic or a CDM Gear setup like the Mod-C. Anyone try both?

I'd go with CDM gear. Have one on my 590, and it's been solid.

They're out of stock on a couple of clamps right now, but there is a blemished batch of MT clamps (same thing I have on my 590) with 3-slot rail for $36.

Thanks,

That MT clamp looks like the ticket. How blemished was yours?

I actually don't have a blemished one, since I ordered it long before that offer popped up. I believe CDM basically does everything in small batches, and it looks like they simply got a bad batch.

I highly recommend the Nordic Mag Clamp. I've owned several including the Mesa Tactical and of them all I prefer the Nordic. Its stout for hell and its not going to strip out. You don't have to crank magazine clamps with a lot of torgue anyhow.

People will complain it will leave marks on your barrel. This is true--they all do. Put it back in the same spot and you'll never see it... I much prefer a few marks on my barrel to my mag tube coming off anyhow.

The Nordic comes with a small Picatinny rail for a light too...You have to pay extra for the same option on a Mesa Clamp.

Interesting, I am also between the Nordic and the CDMgear BMT...What about 22's cmment about the aluminum threads stripping? For comparison, the CDMgear one has a steel insert where the threading is....

If you want heli-coils, put them in yourself. It's really easy.

It should be coming from the manufacturer with the inserts already, not an aftermarket garage fix.

Thanks again for the replies,

After stewing this around some, I'm going with a CDM Gear MT. I like the steel threads and the fact that it only comes in contact with my mag tube. Also, Scott from CDM Gear has been extremely quick and helpful with my questions. Sounds like a good company to do business with.

Did he by any chance mentione when they will have more of the 3-rail BMT's in stock?
