I'm rocking a G23. I have a kingtuk that I wear when its warm out but now that its getting cold, I'm wanting something owb.

Here's what I'd like:
Small enough that its concealable
Easily comes on and off belt without worrying about it falling off
Dependable
Not over $100

Any tips?

I would recommend the Don Hume 721 OT or the Glock Combat sport holster.

The Snap from Sideguard Holsters.

I've used one for both my competition guns for the last 3 years.

No reason not to start with the Sport Combat and go from there, which you probably won't need to.

Comp Tac Paddle holster or Gladiator.

By "easy on and off" do you mean like a paddle or strap-on? FWIW, I've used a Hume JIT slide for years and love it. Simple, rides high & tight, VERY comfortable, and cheap.

I don't really know what I mean. I can't carry inside my job and I don't like worrying about someone seeing my holster and freaking out. I invested in a good belt, so that's not a concern

Are you going to give him a reason or just drive through with an ad for your product? How is it easy on/off?

OP, generally holsters that are easy on/off i.e. don't require you to take your belt off, are less stable than those that do. I believe the Sideguard holster I referenced above is the exception to that but if concealment is that much of an issue for you look at a Bianchi PaddleLok. They fit almost as tight to the body as the belt holster.

Ours is a little over your price, but very close. Easy on and off with one way locking snaps. It conceals very well.

I don't know why, but there's just something about faux stitching on a Kydex holster that seems strange and out of place to me. I'm in the market for an OWB and mag carrier, but I just can't get over that stitching. Makes it look like a Fist or something.

I actually thinks it looks good. It is a nice detail that tries to achieve the look of leather. :tongueout: All kidding aside, I do like the look.

When I look at these holsters, the stitching makes them look more like cheap vinyl reproductions of leather holsters. I just think that leather holsters and Kydex holsters have their own separate place, unless it's a hybrid of course. It just looks so strange to me when you have a Kydex holster that's molded to look like it has leather features. It's almost like a children's toy. That's like the Fist holsters... Who the hell stitches Kydex together? It may work great, but it's just odd to me. :)

And for the OP, I'm leaning heavily towards the swinkster setup found here: http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1313937

It's a cheaper Raven Phantom alternative with awesome build quality and 1 week turnaround instead of months. I want to give OWB a shot with my 19 now that it's starting to cool down here in central FL.

It's a personal suggestion, by no means trying to push a sale. Thought it might be a new alternative that a lot of folks haven't bumpped into in the kydex world that's flooded with Raven style holsters, which we also make as well. The stitching is sufface engraving, nothing like Fist. We've build many of our compact holsters per customers request without the engraving, just plain kydex. It's a personal preference just for the look. If the desing or my post has offended anybody, I'm sincerely appologize!:embarassed: Taking full responsibility here!

I don't see anyone spamming. You asked for holster recommendations and I posted a picture of the one we make that was close to meeting your criteria.

I would estimate I post about 200:1 ,non-holster:my products. One of the nice things about GT is you can very often talk to the makers of some very nice products. Many of us actually sponsor this site and are more than willing to answer any question you may have.

Shady, my post at least and I believe those of the other posters were having an issue with X-Concealment's post. As a non-sponsor I don't believe they should be hit and running threads with nothing more than a picture that really doesn't show much and nothing that even makes me think he looked at the thread any further than the title. I think your post with a little explanation as to why it's in the realm of what the OP was looking for is exactly how a company should be doing business on here.

I agree. I think if people are going to use the site to sell their products, they should become site sponsors and or paid memberships. ShadyScotts posts never seem like just an advertisement. He posts plenty not related to his holster making.

Agree! these are something I should definitely improve. It's hard to write a lot when we try to keep a 3-5 day turnaround time. Sorry for didn't explain more. However, I do read every sigle post before I reply to anything. and it was truely a personal suggestion. because this is what I carry. Other than the easy on and off, our holster meets everything the original post requested. Again if it offened anybody, everybody? I apologize again, SINCERELY! :embarassed:

BailRecovery, Thank you for your suggestion, We've just subscribed paid membership, will do more for GT in anyway we can. Open to suggestions!

I looked and looked at various holsters, and decided on the Glock Sport holster over the X-Concealment but only purely based on price. I wasn't ready to spend another 50 bucks on a holster when I have a few others (King Tuck, Blackhawk pancake, and 5.11 Thumbdrive).

Honestly, the Glock holster does work quite well. It is somewhat of a chore to put on the belt and remove, but only because I have a web belt with a stiffener in it and it is sort of wide.

Perhaps in the future I will try the X-Concealment holster.

I bought an X-Concealment holster about a month ago for my G27. Great holster. I also ordered a single mag carrier yesterday.

IMHO - if you're going to let some 'stitching' keep you from trying an X-C holster, I think you're making mistake.

I agree. Qualify your 'get one of these' comment with the how and why.

OP, generally holsters that are easy on/off i.e. don't require you to take your belt off, are less stable than those that do.

I disagree somewhat here. My kydex with pancake wings goes on and off really easily and conceals very well.

Will do. Its mostly to wear under a heavy winter coat. I already have a good iwb holster and a low profile owb, I wanted something I could slip on and off.

Which I said in the OP....

Its working out perfect. Easy on and off and conceals just fine under my coat. Thanks for the advice!
