What PC would be required in a traffic stop related specifically with Defective License Plate Lamp? :whistling:

A lp light must illuminate a lp so as to make it legible from 50ft.

TTC 547.322

(f) A taillamp or a separate lamp shall be constructed and mounted to emit a white light that:
(1) illuminates the rear license plate; and
(2) makes the plate clearly legible at a distance of 50 feet from the rear.

Thank you. I found it odd that when I was stopped, I took for granted that the lamp/lamps were out. When I arrived at the hotel and checked, they were both lit but the lamp covers were dirty and did make it hard to read. Makes sense now. Glad he was generious and only wrote a warning.

Most cops will just give a warning for that violation, unless the violator talks himself into a ticket.

By the way, it isn't PC we need to make a stop, it's reasonable suspicion.
