As a resident of the late state of Wisconsin, I mailed in my concealed carry application this morning. it was in the mail by 8:45 am and since this is the first day for applying I know that was late. there was reported to be several dozen people at the door of the dept of justice before 8:00 this morning. well, atleast i"m in.

I didn't beat the rush either. I did get the application filled out at 6 am. It was put in the mail at work at 8 am. It will probably leave my city tonight sometime. I figure that will put me near the front of the "middle of the pack." While I'm excited to get the CWL, I think I can be patient. Especially now that the app is out of my hands. I just got my Utah permit Saturday, but it's useless here. Oh well. It will happen soon enough. :dancing:

That's a great step in the right direction. Now just wait for your approval and permit. Congratulations.

Any idea what the turnaround time will be??

at the early time of 8;45 this morning and from what i've heard through the media, sounds like 2-5 weeks. 80,000 downloads by 8:30 am, if 20,000 go out by noon we're doomed:wow:. 1130am radio reported 20-30 people at the door at the DOJ at 8am today, some of them could be handed their permit today. but it sounds like it might bog down pretty quick after that.:crying:

I believe the new law says, for first 30 days, they have 45 days to issue a permit. After that, permits must be issued in 21 days.

Spokesperson for DOJ says 90 have been processed and 42 printed already. That should put mine in the mail back to me today or tomorrow.

Some of you guys are quick. I had mine in the 12:00 noon mail pick-up. I'm more the type to avoid Madison at all costs. Good for the guys that went in person though.

Too bad you have to go to your DOJ, and not your sheriff. That might speed things up a bit by spreading out the load.

That's great news brother. Welcome to the club. Enjoy having the right to defend yourself when not at home, sounds weird doesn't it.... Either way, ALWAYS carry, and be safe. Good luck to you guys in the process of the waiting game(if there is a waiting period for you). Have fun choosing your carry gun if you havent already!
