Which Berry's is everyone using for 40 cal? The 165's or 180's in FP or RN, the 180's were only a cents more than the 165's

I use the 165FN, seems to feed real well in both my EMP & Glock 23.

I don't shoot Berry's Bullets, but do shoot 180gr projectiles (LSWC and JHP) in the P229 40.

I prefered using 165 round nose in 40 for minor and major loads in my G23.

Berry's 165 HBRN-TP

When I do run palted, I prefer the 165gr, mostly for cost, but hey shot well too.

The Berry 180gr.RNs are some of the slickest feeding, most accurate bullets I've used in any of my .40s.

I use Berry's 155gr 'cos they are cheaper. Will I get more accuracy over 15 to 25yds if I go with the heavier bullets?

More than likely, but what are you getting accuarcy wise now? If you shoot sub 2" groups @ 50ft, the 180gr w/ the right powder mays shoot under 1 1/2" @ the same distance. I never found the lighter bullets as accurate in 40 or 10mm loads.:dunno:

I've used the 155s and 180s a bunch, the 180 seemed a little more accurate for me. I've used AA5, AA7 and HP38 powders with those weights with good success.

Have always used 180 FN, don't use berrys but have been loading 40 for over 10 years. Loaded 155 one time, 500 rounds when my places was out of 180 since then went back to 180 and stuck with it.

Thank you gentlemen. I will try the 180gr when my present stock of 155gr gets low.

I've shot the 165 HBRN and the 180 hollow points and I like them both. I have migrated back to the 180 hollow points and use the HP-38 powder and had very good luck with the AA #5.

I like the 180g FP or the 180gRS. Powder Valley always has good deals.
