View Full Version : Holster for Glock 20SF

I just picked up a Glock 20SF a few weeks ago, and I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I bought the 20SF in addition to a S&W 629 .44 Mag for my trips into Montana since it is bear country up there. I picked up some Buffalo Bore ammo for both guns though I still plan on using the stock 17 lb Glock spring.

I am interested in getting a good holster for the 20SF for when I hike up in bear country. I have a Crossbreed for my Five Seven, but don't think I need an IWB holster for the Glock. What holster do you guys recommend for general hiking?

+1 on the Swampfox ammo. You can't beat Mike's stuff for bear.

No opinion on holsters. I have a Specter Gear nylon drop leg holster for my G21 that is simply the best piece of kit I own. And the price couldn't be beat either. I think any OWB holster from Bladetech, CompTac, Blackhawks etc. will fit your needs nicely. Holsters are like underwear. What one guy likes may not work out for your needs.

The Uncle Mike Cordura Nylon hip holsters work fine and they are inexpensive [regular price ~$15]. Can't beat them.

Use mine for hiking and canoe trips in Alaska. Got the Desanti NY undercover rig in black. Fits so well you can hardly tell you have it on. With two full mags on the opposite side, it balances extremely well.

If you search holsters on the Desanti site and put "G20 SF" you only see the option for one holster. Choose "G20" and you see many other options. The rig I use works perfectly with my G20 SF, even though it says for "G20"

you'll find even more holsters if you search for glock 21...theyre the same size, and more people own a 21...

I have a BH Serpa Level 2 for my G20, and I love it, but I don't think they make it with a paddle mount.

I want a paddle, because when hiking/backpacking I take my holster off my web belt on my "deuce gear" and then put it on my pants belt when taking a break or in the evening. The military Bianchi holsters work great for that, but I don't want a flap holster most of the time.

So, I just ordered one of these, which apparently functions just like the Serpa Level 2 and has a paddle attachment:

I'll let you know if I like it as much as I hope.

I got a drop holster from PJholster. He dropped it so the grip of the pistol was low enough that I could wear my pack when I go backpacking. I haven't had a chance to use it with my pack yet, but I like it.

I just bought one for hunting and love it, can also be converted to chest holster or shoulder holster, it also provides good retention.

I got this holster a few months ago when it was on sale for $27. Paddle holster but it comes with a belt attachment as well, so you get 2 in 1. I have read good reviews and intend to use it as my woods holster. I have used it on a couple of my packs. I was surprised at the selection they have plus free shipping.
