So I was pretty much ready to order this:
http://palmettostatearmory.com/2552.php

But it's out of stock and I've been calling PSA for 2 weeks and they always tell me it's gonna be another 3 weeks or a month before they're back in stock.

So I've started toying with the idea of buying from somebody else instead...

Basically what I'm looking for is a decent quality 16" Mid Length upper kit with standard or Magpul MOE hand guards, a lower parts build kit with buffer, tube, etc. to complete my stripped PSA lower receiver.

I've been looking at Spikes but they're also out of stock and they say they won't have anything for about 8 weeks.

So I looked at BCM and they have a hammer forged 16" Mid Length upper, but after I add a BCG and charging handle and hand guards, plus the lower parts kit from PSA and a couple mags, the entire thing is almost $900.

I can put that on my credit card and pay it off within 6 months without interest but dang, what I originally had in mind was gonna be about $550 for PSA's mid length rifle kit.

What do you guys recommend? I really really really wanted to have my AR by xmass.

Edit: Although I appreciate fine things such as Rolex watches and Noveske AR's, they're both way out of my league, which is why, even though the BCM stuff is a lot better than PSA in different ways, I can hardly justify the cost because we have bills to pay. So I'm basically looking for friendly advise from my Internet bro's

Check out Aim surplus, they carry a lot of Spike's in stock. And chances are even if they are out they will get more before a single order would so the wait will be less. They have a complete LW dynacomp middy for $549 including buffer in stock.

Also check out Primary Arms.

PSA is probably using all their middys for this:

That's a HF barrel. All for $699.

Just sayin'...

Why do you "need" a hammer forged barrel?

And for perspective, I have been waiting 5 months for a pair of Form 4s that cost me $1542.

I would second this. But whatever you do don't go outside your financial means just because your impatient. That being said if you Have the money saved up already for the PSA upper check out the link below. I think you will be more than happy with the spikes setup.

Ordered the PSA 14.7'' HF Chrome-lined Mid-length MOE Rifle Kit, 2 mags, a set of punches, stock tool and 100rds to try it out at the range.

Didn't order a carry handle or rear sight 'cause they didn't have good prices for them on PSA's site... what do you guys recommend for a rear sight?

I was thinking about the MBus but don't like that you can't adjust elevation and it's all plastic but eventually I'll have a red dot. I kind of want to get a carry handle because I like the looks and it seems like a solid rear sight system...

What do you guys think?

Just debating rear sight as well, I am going to order the Aimpoint Patrol Rifle Optic or an EOTECH. but I was looking at Rock Rivers carry handle mount as well. But I will probably end up getting a Troy sight for the rear.

PSA just released their midlength lightweight upper. I highly recommend a lightweight.

Just wanted to report that I still have not had a chance to put my lower together yet, but I grabbed my upper and stuck it on one of our (Vietnam-era full-auto) M16 lowers at work and it shot just fine. It's really light and it shoots smooth.

I just ordered an EOTECH EXPS2-0. I wasn't planning on an EOTECH, but with 11% off and free shipping, I decided to try it out.

I am picking up a coworker's Magpul MBUS rear sight (he wants to get a fixed rear sight).
