What's your favorite? I have a Motorola right now but it doesn't seem loud enough. In a noisy environment, I can't hear a thing. Does anyone make a volume adjustable unit? My portable is turned all the way up....talk about squelch with everyone else.

I've had good luck with Comtronics/Cobalt AV. Reasonably priced, great service and quality products. I totally understand the noisy environment thing. I never missed a TX wearing their gear. I think their website is www.cobaltav.com
Go here..... http://www.earphoneconnect.com/ .......order and be happy.
Love the hawk system from them, use it everyday even on bike

+1. Have used a TCI earpiece with a couple of different radio systems for several years and it "just works."

I've used an OTTO for over four years. The unit itself is still solid and 100%.
Otto, Hawk, TCI, Earphoneconnect, or Surefire EP110 if you can find one.
Everything else is trash.
Get a hawk lapel mic. Best setup IMHO. I'll never go back to lapel mic.

These guys invented the earpiece: www.shoppcl.com
and make the best stuff, not rebranded...
There may be a programmable setting to increase the volume in the radio.

Otto here with a surefire brand actual earpiece (earpiece as the piece that fits in your ear :) )
I use a Surefire EP110. Love it and has used it daily for 4 years w/o a hitch.

There is no comparison between the PCL SoundWaves and a hollow tube earpiece (like the OTTO).

x2 on Otto Communications stuff. Bought one out of my own pocket 9-10 years ago, had small issues every so often but was almost always a clogged tube (moisture etc. gets in there after awhile). Otto sent me replacement parts almost every time I called them with an issue. I've got enough spare parts laying around now to replace anything that quits working and make almost 3 complete earpieces. Bonus is that the dept I work for now issues our earpieces. ;)

I tried the "Fox" (the listen-only Hawk) and it wasn't any different. My speaker-mic is really loud and I would have thought the same volume would come through the ear piece. I'm beginning to wonder if something is wrong with the jack on my speaker-mic.
