I finished my Spikes AR 15 which has a hard chromed lined 1X7 twist 16" barrel and have decided on 68 grain ammo but want to know what is the best stuff for SHTF ammo? I want to order a case(1000 rounds) I was checking out this ammo, what do you think?

Black Hills is good stuff but pricey. I prefer Hornady TAP, particularily 75gr.

For large scale ammo cache good old M193 is good enough unless you have a large wallet.

For a case of SHTF ammo, I agree with Cowboy1964. M193 is the way to go.

If you really want something heavier, Prvi Partizan has some good ammo at a decent price.

Guess I should point out that I am not associated with Palmetto, just a happy customer.

Another vote for M193. Plenty of Lake City out there for less than $300 per 1000.

Makes it cheaper and more practical to practice with the same ammo you plan to use for SHTF.
